The light blink again after topping the oil, even till i started hearing the sound the oil sign didnt blink on the dashboard.

My mistake was that i didnt check cos i rushed out and i assume i just top up. I didnt even take note.

I'm still surprise how it dried up so fast.

The noise can be describe ooo, if i try to accelerate it becomes louder
I really hope you've not damaged your engine
Hardex is a good oil
It it dries up, it means your engine is shorting oil or leaking oil.
Now you've started hearing sounds, it means the damage has eaten deep

That engine is cheap
Highest 300k plus your old engine counterbalance
Do not attempt to ring it
Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Jaysharp(m): 5:32pm On May 27, 2025
I hope so too..

The engine is k24 as you've said it, would have stayed with my mobil jeje o
Conner44:
If it's caused by the engine oil being fake as your mech said then I pray it isn't your crankshaft that has chop (metal) . Valve train noise should be easy for any mech to diagnose.

Please stay away from hardex if you're using Honda k24 engines, their chemistry (even the original ones) don't play nice

Okay,
How sure is the other engine not ringed too

Good day everyone,
Please who has experience this before, what's the way forward?

I serviced my car last month and last week or so I saw engine oil sign blinking on my dashboard, I managed to drive it home cos I was very close to the house when I saw it. So I call my kazeem and Inform him about it, he said probably I bought a fake oil. That I can top up the oil and use till month end then I can service it again. I was okay with the suggestion cos as at that period i didn't have much with me.

Fast forward to this last weekend, while hustling I started hearing sounds from my car, luckily I was close to riders destination. So I open the hood I heard the sound was from the engine. I switched off the car and checked everything, I found out the oil has dry up again.
I had to top up again to go home, now the sound from the engine didn't stop, Kazeem has checked the engine, said its coming from inside the engine that he has to bring down the Engine to know what's causing the sound.

My bosses in the house, any idea with what might be wrong before kazeem open engine and worsen the issue?

Car is Honda DC
Oil used was Hardex 5w20
You didn't mention that the engine was making sound before oil change. It was after oil change that it started making that sound.....

It is more than likely you bought fake engine oil Honda engine no dey die quick like that. You have to go out of your way to destroy the engine. E be say na next level abuse you did ......

Invest in original Mobil 1 engine oil. You get peace of mind contact dru23 for all your engine oil needs . Get peace of mind

Ps. You will need to replace engine be that.....

That Kazeem shouldn't go anywhere near ur car ever again. If he doesn't know the meaning/implication of oil indicator light coming up in a car.
And it's normal car maintenance practice to check all fluids every morning before starting the car and driving out. If u did this, this predicament would have been avoided.
You will be lucky if your engine is not gone.

The hackney was done ,as I was prompted by the VIO officials because I carried my personal items in my car not for e-hailing and I will have to do lasdri (20k was paid for not having)

I only use e-hailing to get to specific locations without having to pay for fuel.
dont really get. Did u have lasdri initially before they caught u?

Definitely, yes.
It's just like every other vehicle document that you have to be renewing yearly.
If they check your plate number that you have done it before, you're committed already.

Much respect, boss.

Indrive Riders are offering outrageously high prices to get out or move around in VI.
Sadly, the road to access those areas are blocked.
How will a govt do this?

Okay good. Just as I thought. Good news is that you won't need to buy a replacement engine then ONLY if you dot your 'I's' and cross your 'T's' during the selection of your replacement crankshaft wink

Good luck 🤞
