TROOPS NEUTRALIZE TERRORISTS, RECOVER ARMS AND AMMUNITION

In a decisive blow against terrorism, troops of Operation Hadin Kai , in conjunction with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have successfully engaged and neutralized several Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in separate operations.

On May 21, 2025, troops encountered terrorists attempting to loot food items from a broken-down civilian vehicle in Rann. The swift response of the troops resulted in the elimination of six terrorists and the recovery of some AK 47 rifles with ammunition.

In a related development, troops of the Forward Operating Base (FOB) MOLAI, along with the CJTF, conducted a successful ambush at a terrorist crossing point near Komala, along the Maiduguri-Damboa road. The ambush resulted in the neutralization of some terrorists and the recovery of several motorcycles and IED materials intended for burial by the terrorists.

Good one by the Lads.

What we need now is to anticipate one of those their massed attacks against a large base and prepare a counter offensive to meet them head on, complete with motorised troops and armored vehicles. Catch like 300 to 400 of them massed in the open and just over run them before they can disperse. we need to give them a casualty count in the hundreds to act as a real deterrent.

I recall during the earlier days in 2013/14 or so when artillery or an air attack caught boko haram forming up around konduga (Bornu State)...it was a slaughter. The pix were on Beegeagles blog back then. We need a major victory like that again i tell you.

Explosion At Bus Stop Opposite Mogadishu Cantonment Abuja.
Situation Under Control. Details Later.

Explosion near Mogadishu Cantonment: Eye witnesses insist it was suicide bombing

What began as a typical Sunday afternoon near the bustling pedestrian bridge outside the Mogadishu Cantonment in Abuja quickly turned into a scene of chaos and speculation after an explosion rocked the area, killing one person and injuring two others.

While initial reports suggested the explosion could have resulted from a faulty battery, eyewitness accounts gathered by Zagazola Makama contradict that story, pointing instead to what they describe as a suicide bombing attempt.

The explosion, which occurred at approximately 2:32 p.m., sent commuters and vendors in the area scrambling for safety. According to multiple witnesses, the victim an unidentified male had alighted from a Golf car a few metres from the main military checkpoint and proceeded on foot towards the cantonment.

“He looked suspicious the moment he came down,” said Musa Aliyu, a roadside vendor who operates near the bridge. “He wasn’t carrying any visible luggage, but he kept adjusting something around his body. When the soldier told him to stop and move back, he did, but then, within seconds, he exploded.”

Military police personnel stationed at the checkpoint also acted swiftly, suspecting something was amiss. Sources within the barracks confirmed that the man had refused to comply fully with the identification protocol, prompting one of the personnel to instruct him to step back.

“He didn’t make it past the checkpoint,” a security officer, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said. “The explosion occurred while he was a few steps away. If he had gotten any closer, the casualties would have been far worse.”

The blast killed the suspect instantly and injured two passersby, both of whom were immediately evacuated to the Defence Medical Hospital (DMH) and are currently receiving treatment.

Shortly after the incident, an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team, along with personnel from the Nigeria Police, arrived at the scene, cordoned off the area, and began a thorough sweep for additional threats or evidence.

A significant number of Russian heavy weapons have appeared for the first time in the arsenal of the Libyan National Army (LNA), which controls a portion of the country divided by years of civil war.

The new military hardware was showcased during a parade in Benghazi led by Field Marshal General Khalifa Haftar, marking the anniversary of Operation Dignity.

The event featured a range of modern Russian equipment not previously observed in use by Haftar’s forces.

CHIEF OF THE NAVAL STAFF INSPECTS ONGOING PROJECTS IN LAGOS AREA

On Monday 26 May 2025, the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla inspected several ongoing projects in Lagos area. All the projects were initiated by the CNS and some are nearing completion. The inspection included visits to Naval Medical Center where he saw the newly built reception and other facilities, Naval Dockyard Limited where he assessed progress on the construction of Seaward Defence Boats IV and V.

Notably, the Seaward Defence Boats (SDB) are locally manufactured sea-going vessels constructed by Nigerian Navy Ship Builders and Engineers. The first SDB, NNS ANDONI was completed in 2012, the second SDB, NNS KARADUWA was completed in 2016 and the third SDB, NNS OJI was completed in 2021. All three vessels are still in the service of the Nigerian Navy. It is expected that SDB IV & V will be completed soon.
Thereafter he inspected projects at the proposed Forward Operating Base Tarkwa-Bay and Forward Operating Base Lekki.
All the projects are poised to improve NN operations.

ISWAP evacuates 15 bodies, abandons VBIED after failed attack on New Marte

At least 15 dead bodies of suspected Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters were hastily evacuated by their comrades after a failed midnight assault on New Marte in Borno State.

Zagazola Makama gathered from impeccable sources that the insurgents, on about 20 motorcycles had launched a coordinated attack on troops in New Marte at about 1:35 a.m. on Tuesday. They arrived on motorcycles and with a Vehicle-Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED), apparently aimed at breaching the battalion’s defences.

However, the combined firepower of Nigerian troops under Operation Hadin Kai, supported by the Nigerian Air Force Air Component, overwhelmed the attackers. The VBIED, meant to cause maximum damage, was abandoned by the terrorists as they fled under sustained fire and aerial bombardment

According to intelligence sources, the retreating insurgents made desperate efforts to evacuate their dead and wounded, managing to flee with at least 15 corpses of their fighters while leaving behind several destroyed motorcycles and heavy blood trails at the New Marte airstrip.

“They came in like a swarm, heavily armed, and used a VBIED to lead the charge. But once our troops responded and the air component came in, they were completely overwhelmed. They abandoned the VBIED and began dragging their casualties into the bush. From what we tracked, at least 15 bodies were evacuated. It was a major blow to them.”the sources said.

The source added that aerial surveillance and ground exploitation confirmed that several motorcycles used for the assault were destroyed in the process, while others were left behind due to the rapid counter-offensive.

Two Nigerian soldiers lost their lives during the encounter, while one Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle sustained tyre damage and a gun truck was partially hit.

In a related incident, troops also foiled an attempted incursion by ISWAP fighters on the Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Kumshe, where the terrorists were again repelled after a fierce exchange of fire. Some terrorists were believed to have been neutralised during the encounter.

The keel of both SDB IV & V have been laid since 2021 ooo. It’s 2025 no cabin, no deck, just the hull. Originally the expectation was that they would be commissioned alongside the incoming Dearsan OPV 76. But let’s assume Naval Dockyard was held back by budgetary constraints and lack of technical know how in some areas because as the SDB advances in series, the engineering becomes more complicated.

These ones will be 46metres and a follow on, upgraded version of the NNS Oji. Hopefully when the incoming, 55metres Tuzla class patrol boat is commissioned into service, the SDB 6 will be based on it. And then after SDB 6 we can try our luck with license producing the Dearsan OPV 76.

Wow!! This is great news. Almost as if they saw what i wrote the last time.
I criticized the Air force for being virtually unavailable during night attacks, and I have been proven wrong in the best way possible. Kudos to the airforce.
I also wondered why the attacks on forward Operating bases were not answered with quick counter strikes, and hey--presto...the Army did exactly that. I have never been so glad to be proven wrong. More grease to their elbows.

If we sustain this approach Boko haram will be returned to their previous small scale hit and run operations.

These their full scale attacks are actually our best opportunity to inflict heavy casualties on them, and we should miss such opportunities at all.
All we need to do is to maintain active ISR flights and ground patrols to identify those attacks in advance and prepare to meet them with overwhelming force. It is not easy, but na the work be that finally.

Good work lads!

Hopefully this visit is the first step to re-awakening the project. Frankly, at this stage we should not be importing any patrol vessels again. FG needs to invest enough in the key dockyards to enable us handle those projects.

If the Oil and gas Industry can assemble topsides of major Oil and gas platforms, we have the capacity to deliver these vessels, even if the navy has to leverage capacity from major oil and gas fabrication firms like Nigerdock, Dorman Long etc.

TROOPS OF 3 DIVISION/OPERATION SAFE HAVEN NEUTRALISE BANDITS HEADING TO ATTACK PLATEAU COMMUNITIES, RECOVER ARMS AND AMMUNITION

1. On 27 May 2025, armed militia heading to attack some villages on the Plateau were ambushed and neutralised by troops of 3 Division and Operation SAFE HAVEN. This followed credible intelligence on plans by bandits to attack Teng and Kayarda Villages in Qua'an Pan Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau State in the early hours of 27 May 2025. During the operation, troops in ambush positions, made contact and neutralised 3 bandits with others fleeing in the process. Troops further recovered 4 AK-47 rifles, 4 AK-47 magazines and 56 rounds of 7.62 mm (Special) ammunition from the bandits.

2. The recovered arms and ammunition are in the custody of troops, while efforts are ongoing to clampdown on the fleeing members of the criminal syndicate and also recover their illicit weapons.

3. This operational success is a testament to the continued efforts of troops to rid the Joint Operations Area of assailants whose activities have been largely frustrated by own troops and will be sustained.

The death toll from the recent Boko Haram/ISWAP attack on 25 Brigade Headquarters in Damboa has risen to 30, following the discovery of two more corpses during clearance operations by troops of Operation Hadin Kai.

Zagazola Makama learnt from sources that the corpses were found on Wednesday during a follow-up exploitation by troops conducting Operation Desert Sanity IV in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State.

The discovery was in continuation of the exploitation effort following the foiled attack on May 23, where troops in coordination with the Air Component had earlier neutralized several insurgents during a coordinated response.

The main difference between AW-109M and "trekkers" is that AW-109M is a specific military helicopter variant, while "trekkers" refers to a broad category of travel gear and activities

But still, it's a little bit tricky and convincing. Most AW-109M mostly come with the landing skids but this variant of AW109m has wheels instead.
