Minister of the Federal Capital Territory FCT, Nyesom Wike has dismissed reports of suicide bombing in respect of Monday’s explosion around the Nyanya axis.

Speaking during a project inspection on Wednesday in Abuja, Wike said the victim had ignorantly carried an explosive material from a quarry site which exploded on him.

He said: “What happened there was that somebody went to a quarry site, where rocks are blasted, and took an explosive, putting it in his pocket.

Of course, some people may not even understand the implications of that. And so, it exploded on him.

“That does not mean it was a suicide bombing. So we should be careful with the stories we spread, and not send the wrong message to residents. You’ve noted that residents are also aware there has been an improvement in security.

“That alone is enough. We are doing what we are supposed to do to allay the fears of residents and assure them that Abuja is still secure. In fact, it remains one of the most secure areas in the country.

“We are doing everything possible. So, I did not receive any report that the person was a suicide bomber. That is not correct.”

A sane man put explosives in his pocket, he did not go home, he walked towards the military barracks gate, where soldiers are stationed, then the explosives detonated, yet he is not a suicide bomber. What other name do we call him?

So Wike thinks you can explode quarry explosive without the blasting cap and sring electrical supply? Quarry explosive need a lot of power to ignite them..

So wike spent 8yrs as the executive gomina of Rivers state and then became the FCT gomina again.

Wike's claim here is entirely false. I live here. It was a suicide bomer(bomber).

Besides, is wike a security personnel to understand this?

I believe the Army would provide a more accurate information. Wike only wants to brag at the end of his tenure that he did well on Security while he was the FCT gomina

The coincidence should rightfully give people room to speculate even if Wike maybe right
P.S Don't think Wike is right after all because someone also noted that quarty explosives don't detonate unless there is a triggering device

how is it possible for explosives used for quarries to explode in someone's pocket?

why did the person take the explosive?
