➜She can leave, someone, probably better than her will marry him. Sometimes some people just think they are above certain challenges.
➜ What will be her reason for quitting especially if the guy is ok and caring?
It isn't that they think but that they are. Not everyone can handle a situation like this, and rightly so. There are people who, after learning of their mental illness, and the potential of it debilitating their lives, chose not to even burden anyone else in that they decided it was best not to get married or have kids at all. That is how serious it can be. undecided

2. Mental illness is not something to be trifled with. You and I know this for a fact since we have at least seen families devastated by it. undecided

She fit swear with amadioha or ogun that she never knew the guy ran mad before until lately?

Madam, tell us the truth. Your husband has no money as he used to. Hence, your excuse for wanting to quit.

If the guy has money, even if he's in chains as a result of madness, she will say, I married my husband because I love him. grin

The lady might b scared it can reoccur again or might affect one of her kids.

I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I actually agree with you for the first time in history on nairaland.

In marriage, Party A has a duty to disclose to Party B any condition which is likely to impact negatively on the long term survival of the union they are about to enter into.
This is what what informed consent means.

Well, she has a right to want out of the marriage. No point arguing about that. sad sad sad sad sad sad

You aren't making any sense! What does point 3 say that you should be upset with? I am having a hard time following what you have here. huh
A person's dirty past is that person's private business(point 3) yet she wants to abandon him for one of those dirty past(point 2), isn't that contradictory? Like you said there's no law against it but what could he have done to avoid such issue?

If it was private like you said then he did not need to disclose but if point 3 is flawed then she has every right to be upset......CATCH 22 grin grin

Nonsense! 🙄🙄🙄

For the umpteenth time, your Mental Health history and your medical record ARE NOT your dirty past nor are they anything to be ashamed of. undecided

2. Your medical and mental health history may be private to you as an individual but they should not remain that way when you become married or intend to procreate. undecided

Nothing for him to be ashamed of, however it is also not something to hide from a potential spouse. There are so many children out there born with mental conditions that could have been avoided if parents were at least aware before having children, or treated them well before having kids. Worse, there are many stuck in marriages with mentally ill individuals, conditions that were hidden before the marriage from them. undecided

Those judging her based on love, and money, will you do better if you were in her shoes? Most Nigerians and their judgemental mentality!

If they were to be in her shoes they would have dust their shoes, and took off without looking back!
