Deal with it young arewa lady. You either move with the global trends or stay behind. There's no sentiment here. This was going to happen at some point. The Arewa who have been writing MB, did they die?. You are only confirming the general impression that Northern Nigeria is holding the rest of Nigeria back. Education is not honorary but attained through resilience and merit. This new method will eliminate examination fraud and malpractices. WAEC is not a Nigerian Establishment and as such not pliable to Political and ethnic sentiments. This is here to stay, wether you like it or not. |

And who do you blame? Better wake up and stop all thpse agenda against "innovation and tech" that plaques the intellectual space there. It is 2025 and every year, someone must complain that it is unfair. Nobody will listen of you had no phones. So let those kids get used to computers in schools now. Swarm the schools with it and do the needful. |

The Introduction of CBT platform into Waec & Neco is a brilliant idea . The world is technologically advancing day by day. Its either you join the trend or be left behind . Arewa should hold there leaders accountable for the northern education to have become so abridged. So , how then will you people survive and complement in a modern society positively when you plead excuses always due to ignorance for positive growth? You guys should wakeup and break free from ignorance and limitations. The other regional parts of Nigeria are not performing magic. It requires adequate Knowledge not just power in becoming a reputable leader. |

Madam, the North cannot continue to hold Nigeria back — it won’t happen again! If 99% of students in the North lack computer literacy, that is a problem peculiar to your region. You expect the rest of Nigeria to be concerned about a region — the North — that prioritizes religion over education? You must be joking! This is the same North that spends billions of Naira on religious frivolities — sponsoring pilgrimages, building and renovating mosques — instead of investing in education. Yet people like you see nothing wrong with that. Now you're expressing concern about the computer literacy of the average student in the North in this day and age? What a shame. If your students can’t cope with CBT, take them to Arabic studies centers — that seems to be where your priorities naturally lie. We will no longer wait for the North — enough is enough! Hold your governors accountable. Let them implement policies that will bring real development to your people and your region. |

Lady do you know the meaning of 99%? The myths of illiteracy in the North is taken out of proportion. The population of urbanized Minna, Kaduna, Jos, Yola, Maiduguri, Bauchi, Kano, Zaria, Lagos, Gombe e.t.c all make up 1% of Northern Computer literates abi ? |

malali:Stop projecting your reality and inadequacy on the whole of the country please! It's not Tunji-alausa fault that schools were closed in the North for a month while student from other regions were not only studying diligently but also added extramural classes to it? The Minister's responsibilities do not include building classrooms and forcing children to go to school. Remind me again what happened to all the Almajiri schools built by Gooduck Jonathan administration? If the plethora of structural poverty you alluded didn't stop Almajiri system, why should it stop free Universal basic education funded by FG with free food program added as bonus?! if your Governors collect huge allocation to build schools, instead they sponsored mass-marriage. How is that the Minister's fault?! Is the North the only region with power failure or infrastructural deficit? Excuses upon lamentations isn't the solution. Mass reorientation and mentality shift is what will be needed to liberate the North. If other part of the country were to have your mentality waiting on every single person to be literate before embracing GSM, I'm sure we will still be using gong and towncrier to pass across messages. Unfortunately, your leaders fear this shift because mass enlightenment will make them lose control over their people! |

SporaD8:You make assumptions about me...... As Minister of education he has federal oversight over the nations education. If any state is found wanting his ministry can hold them accountable. How can you be buying planes and blaming the governors for not building a runway and airport. Shouldn't you know that state of each airport and runway before announcing that you are planning to buy more airplanes. Who is responsible for the discordance ? I have nothing against Tunji-Alausa. But i expect better from him. Obviously he doesn't want to ruffle feathers.....But the same way we criticized Tahir and he was removed, we would criticize Alausa too. Nobody is above public criticism as a public servant. |

malali:If you resides in Nigeria, you should know how the federal system works. Let me use your illustration. Since Education is in the concurrent list - Before any federal parastatal can buy educational materials(planes) to be distributed across states, be rest assured that allocation has been provided to states to build classrooms(airports) much more earlier; that is even if the state didn't deem it fit to build one already. Wether the allocation was embezzled, misappropriated or diverted by any State cannot be blame on the ministry in charge; rather the state government should take responsibility. So far as other states have their airports ready, your state has no tenable excuse! Your state and local govt cannot be cheating you and you will heap the blame on FG. It's improper. It's why they continue to keep you ignorant and unlearned! It's why the South is clamoring for fiscal federalism and local government autonomy. That way, states and local govt can no longer hide their incompetency under the federal government. |

SporaD8:As far as they are public schools, their oversight is Federal. Some of these schools have not been opened for a long time due to Insurgents and bandits. There has been no comment by Alausa on realistic problems we have peculiar to Nigeria. He is mentioning CBT , very soon he will add prometric centers......We have worse and more immediate problems than that. I hope you get my point. |

[quote author=press9jatv post=135547111]Northern lady expresses deep concern over the introduction of Computer-Based Testing for WAEC and NECO. Said that this development could lead to a significant disaster, as about 99% of students in the North have never used a computer, let alone acquired basic computer literacy 💔💔 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JErmiC2Ip6k. Here we go AGAIN!!.. This was how Nigeria wasted 4years waiting for this dullards to be ready for independence. 😏😰 . |
