This was the same reason government gave when they set up NIRSAL. So what happens now. Will the 2 Agencies coexist side by side or will NIRSAL be scrapped.

BOI doesn't cover many sectors outside manufacturing. It doesn't cover retail, professional services, etc. It doesn't cover real estate.

Also, BOI is Government-funded.

What this new body does is to provide a guarantee for Businesses seeking to raise private capital. It also needs expands on sectors that are serviced.

So why then did the Tinubu deposit 100 billion for a start on behalf of government ?

You have not still answered my question, if the government still has a hand in its funding why then create a body to handle such when BOI could have been modified by law or policy to include the function of what this one wants to achieve, the government claims no money but yet creating a new body that will have directors, down to cleaners....

Look at the way you people reason, a simple function that could have been added to BOI or even any other government funding business agency is what Tinubu is creating a fresh agency for...

This entity will reduce the risk banks face when lending to the public by guaranteeing repayment of a portion of the loan in the event of default. The primary objective is to motivate financial institutions to extend more credit to individuals & corporates in the economy. A step in the right direction I must say coupled with soon coming open banking policy I think we are in for better times in terms of access to credit.

House with A/C has plans made for it; it space, location and electric circuit (15 Amps capacity which is usually higher than the requirement for other equipment in the house.)
"The old house will be a disaster as it wasn't engineered to house the A/C, A new house will have plan for that"

Now translate this back to your argument.

if government is serious to tackle macro, small and medium scale businesses throughout the country, first it will establish it's office in all the local government of the federation for easy access.

Outside that is just a jamboree as usual.

You're right to be cautiously optimistic. While the guarantee company won’t deal directly with individuals, its full implementation will incentivize banks, microfinance institutions, and other lenders to offer more loans at better rates.

It can work with an existing organization, they only need to put in the right structure to avoid problems and it will also cut down cost of running such program...
