Umuahia, the capital city of Abia State, wore a gloomy look on Friday as residents stayed indoors in honour of fallen Biafra heroes The state capital had an entirely different outlook from its usual daily bustling and hustling, with streets deserted in total concession to the sit-at-home order by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). Markets and motor parks also shut down, while street shops refused to open for business. Other affected daily activities are banks, as customers make do with the cash at their disposal, while both private and public schools were not opened to customers. As usual, some youths opted to play football on an empty street, while some residents sat at the entrance of their premises, discussing the latest developments in the country. No incident of any clash between IPOB and security forces was reported at the time of filing this report, while no security agents were spotted on the streets https://guardian.ng/news/biafra-day-empty-street-in-umuahia-as-residents-observe-sit-at-home-order/

The first thing I will do when I become governor is to declare 30th May as Biafra Remembrance Day |

May 30 should be declared a holiday in the 5 SE states in honor of the fallen soldiers and deaths of millions of civilians due to the Biafran civil war. Each state should ask people to submit names of their family members who died during the war so they can be remembered |

This sit-at-home is better than the regular Monday sit-at-home! This is the commemoration of Biafra Day and deserves national recognition and solidarity. |

May 30th should be declared holidays in the East and even accross the country. Just like June 12. Everyone has the right to remember their families. It shouldn't be a big deal. |

Smartcitizen:Ha, so you admit you have planks. I am not Yoruba, let's get that out of the way. But if I was Yoruba and Igbo, or even Hausa, I would call any evil person from my tribe evil. I will also ask those in aso rock and our governors and company to LEAD US WELL. But you are lying against me already, so, continue. ![]() |

nairalanda1:I only asked you to remove the planks in your eyes first before pointing at the tiny bits in your neighbor's eyes. And besides, we elected a governor who is giving us what we want, please don't compare him with those idiots who are neither here nor there and can't win any free and fair credible election and following their useless president up and down. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 |

nairalanda1:Hahaha hahaha! Slavery over what? That I chose to remember my people who lost their lives during Nigeria's wicked gang up against the Igbos, is that what makes me a slave? 🤣🤣🤣🤣 You who is a free born in Nigeria, how good are you living your lives? Why are you people Japa-ring out of your paradise? 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I don't blame people who are being deceived, but I will curse the man who chooses to deceive himself. Anyway, chose what you like and allow me to choose what I love, after all, have we invited you people to come to Abia and assist us with anything?
