Republic of Korea Navy Jang Bogo class submarine.

I’m hoping the Navy did not spend money on the Chamsuri class patrol vessel but rather received it as a donation. These class of ships is older than or in the same age range as the NNS Aradu. And it also has a tragic history (Search Chamsuri 357).

This post caught my attention. The recent trend of the Nigerian Airforce and Navy acquiring AW-109 helicopters with VIP transport-esque interior cabins. Is this a cause for concern about management of funds or the higher ups are improving in the department of personnel welfare.?? Are they really bought to transport high ranking officers and their wives or is it to create a comfortable environment for helo-borne teams.

Bidexiii, do you happen to know if the NA’s Aviation Squadron and its UH-1 Huey helicopters only transport high ranking officials or they also deliver utilities to FOBs or they are still in the planning stage to make them do so.

Only one of the helicopter came with such interior and that's the white trekker which has got it's camo changed to grey
The rest are fit for SBS insertion and Extraction
Same goes for the air force trekkers

Jakepor21 is wrong here.

For someone with such a huge platform he should have taken the time to research and verify more on this topic before posting.

Only the white Trekker is brand new, and has that interior. The other two are pre-owned units purchased and modified by Caverton.

The other two have the normal Trekker configuration. The Navy has 14 helicopters in service and only one has the VIP interior, there's nothing wrong with that.

This frees up other helicopters prior used for VIP transportation for the tasks they are intended for.

Yeap I saw this post on jakes handle on X-space.
We can all tell that this asset will be used for more VIP-air taxi than operational demands. Yes have seen the NA aviation UH-1 in Yobe performing a logistic duty, the NA needs more of this platform to perform there duties effectively.

Airstrike in Zamfara kills over 20 bandits, but claims vigilante casualties

The Nigerian Army has confirmed that over 20 bandits were neutralised during a coordinated air interdiction operation in Maraya and Wabi villages of Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State, while four members of a local vigilante group were also affected in the attack.

Zagazola Makama gathered from reliably sources that the airstrike, which occurred on Saturday, May 31, was followed by a ground exploitation mission on Saturday by troops of 1 Brigade Operation Fansan Yanma to assess the impact and conduct clearance operations in the area.

The sources said that the interdiction inflicted significant losses on the terrorists, including the destruction of their motorcycles and equipment.

“During the exploitation on June 1, it was confirmed that over 20 bandits were neutralised and several motorcycles destroyed,” the source stated.

However, the source also confirmed that some number of vigilante personnel were mistakenly caught in the strike due to a failure to comply with withdrawal orders issued ahead of the operation.

“Unfortunately, five vigilante members were killed, while two others sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment in the hospital. A few others sustained minor injuries and did not require hospitalisation,” the source added.

According to field reports, the leader of the vigilante group has accepted full responsibility for the casualties suffered by his men, stating that they disregarded earlier instructions to withdraw from the outskirts of the village ahead of the airstrike.

“He admitted that despite being informed of the imminent air operation, some of the vigilante youths insisted on pursuing the fleeing bandits and were still within the target area when the aircraft struck,” the military source said.

Zagazola learnt that the interdiction was part of intensified counter-terrorism efforts by troops under Operation Hadarin Daji to degrade the operational capacity of armed groups terrorising communities across Zamfara and neighbouring states.

The sources said that the military has consistently warned local security outfits and civilian volunteers to adhere strictly to operational guidelines and instructions during joint operations to prevent unintended casualties.

The latest operation comes amid renewed efforts by the Nigerian Armed Forces to stabilise rural areas ahead of the farming season and restore civil authority in volatile communities across the North-West.

Troops repel major ISWAP attack on Mallam Fatori IDP camp, neutralized 12 ISWAP insurgents in Borno

The Troops of the Nigerian Army Sector 3 deployed under Operation Hadin Kai have repelled a large-scale attack by ISWAP terrorists on an Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp in Mallam Fatori, Borno State.

Zagazola Makama gathered that the attack occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, when over 150 terrorists launched a coordinated assault on troops position from the Kaniram axis.

It was gathered that the terrorists advanced on foot, firing Automatic Grenade Launchers (AGLs) and deploying armed drones toward the battalion’s main defensive area

The troops reportedly responded swiftly by engaging the terrorists with mortar and tank fire, targeting their avenues of approach from the western flank.

According to the report, “following an extensive firefight that lasted for about four hours, the terrorists managed to breach a section of the IDP camp perimeter.”

However, troops quickly regrouped and counter-engaged the infiltrating terrorists with superior firepower, forcing them to retreat in disarray.

BH/ISWAP has now moved radically in deploying weaponized drones wish marks a significant shift in the insurgent group's tactics.
This means this terrorist sects are learning from what is happening in the middle east and ongoing Russia/Ukraine war.
The Nigeria Army and other military branches must rapidly adjust to this new treat and most learn how to counter it.
Several African countries have adopted the use of drones, particularly the Medium Altitude, Long Endurance (MALE) unmanned aerial vehicle, in their fight against armed groups. The Sahel region is the epicenter of global terrorism and now accounts for over half of all terrorism-related deaths.

Firstly, why does the Nigerian armed forces feel they need to keep sewing these operations badgeshuh?
Surely it's neater and cheaper to just mass print them? This is done routinely in Aba.

2ndly, This Navy marines issue. What exactly is the benefit. Is it not a duplication of NSBShuh
Let's even assume the function is Naval infantry, why not expand the NSBS and kit them optimally or expand the Army amphibious brigade portharcourt and enhance their expeditionary unit activities + better equipments??

3rdly, The real needs assessment would preferably be organizing a QRF FOR NSA/DSS/NIA for rapid counterinsurgency reaction within Nigeria especially with fulani herdmen/terrorists and burning of villages across th3 middle belt.

Lastly, Nigeria needs to FENCE THE THE NORTHERN BORDERS!!!!!
Or develop the amended multipronged FALCON EYE system or TRACON system with spy satellites, long range drones, helium balloons , integrated ISR planes and QRF.
WHAT EXACTLY is the function of all these cerebral training and policy developing armed forces institutes, TRADOC and universities huh?

THE KEYWORDS THERE ARE 150 TERRORISTS & FIREFIGHT LASTING 4 HOURS!!!!!!!
For God's sake, surely even if u scramble JF17s from Abuja, they would arrive on the battlefield scene within that active period and practicallybwipe out 90% of the terrorists with stand away missiles? Allowing the troops to just do elementary clean up.
By the time they do this 5 or 6 times to massed terrorists, they will know never to attack in numbers ever again.

2ndly, Special Operations Joint Air Ground Operators (also referred to as Air Force Special Tactics) are the Air Force's special operations ground force. They are highly trained and deployable, often working with other joint SOF partners to achieve their missions. These operators are capable of air-ground-space-cyber integration in various environments, optimizing the application of airpower..
Designation JTAC- Surely the airforce must have identified the need for night visionary FLIR pods in ALL their aircraft and the need to upscale and train these JTAC Special operators and then embed them in every FOB + optimal comms. I promise you that all this stories of FOBs being destroyed or overrun by terrorists will end.

3rdly, with the JTAC operators, you reduce the risk of collateral civilian deaths and blue on blue / blue on green incidents with vigilantes.

This Trekker helicopters issue. Apart from being executive taxis or air kabu kabu, is it not more useful if they have FLIR pods, night vision possibilities and attached HMGs and rocket pods?
Abi am I missing something with the numbers and rates at which they are being procured?
