The Lagos state government should stop messing around and build proper underground drainage systems. No modern city does this “clean up day” nonsense because the infrastructure negates the need for that. If you build roads with covered drainage and sidewalks, there would be no need to force residents out of their homes to dig rubbish from your filthy open gutters. There’s no need for an “environmental day” in Abuja, because the infrastructure is well built, and there are no filthy open gutters to “clean up”. |

If they say "Lagos is smelling", this is the best way to respond to the critics and not playing tribalism card. And when monthly sanitation is imposed, arrest defaulters and let them be mandated to clean up Lagos. Simple |

People should take their hygiene quite seriously. Do your personal sanitation at least before going out. Again, the LASG should not arrest or force anyone to stay indoors in compliance to a Court order. DesChyko:The Appeal Court held that you can't force or restrict movement on said date of sanitation. Always Thinking and acting backward! Only in Nigeria, do I see women sweeping the road with local brooms. Only in Nigeria do state governments shut down the economy to keep the environment clean. Only in Nigeria do election body shut down the country for elections. We should think forward and not backward |

Blaming people for bad governance. Yes people are dirty, but in my estate we pay LAWMA PSP, but don't come and pick refuse as due. They want to shut us down again. The Thursday weekly sanitation is not observed, rather people go to prayer houses. No enough refuse cans. ![]() |
| Re: Lagos To Recommence Monthly Environmental Sanitation (Photos) by Hezzyluv: 9:10pm On Jun 01, 2025 |
APOPTOSIS:It's usually weekly, every Thursday. |

| Re: Lagos To Recommence Monthly Environmental Sanitation (Photos) by DesChyko: 9:16pm On Jun 01, 2025 |
It was a bad idea to have stopped in the first place. Also, I think this was backed by a court order then, right? |
| Re: Lagos To Recommence Monthly Environmental Sanitation (Photos) by Kewekubosineh: 9:18pm On Jun 01, 2025 |
Kemetian:Do you mind them. Always making noise with their supporters. A poorly planned City that negates modernity. That's Lagos. They should stop disturbing the inhabitants because the infrastructure is not well built. |
| Re: Lagos To Recommence Monthly Environmental Sanitation (Photos) by Heavensake1: 9:19pm On Jun 01, 2025 |
Kemetian:Thank you! I don't know why nigeria governments still builds road with open gutter. It is very irritating. |
