His Excellency,
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR
President and Commander-in-Chief
Federal Republic of Nigeria
Aso Rock Presidential Villa
Abuja, Nigeria

Your Excellency,

RE: A Plea for the Preservation of Human Dignity and Immediate Intervention in Benue State

I write to you today not only as a concerned citizen but as a voice of a deeply wounded people — a people whose tears have become daily dew, whose hopes are buried beneath fresh graves, and whose lives are being consumed by the silence of inaction.

Your Excellency, Nigeria stands at a moral crossroad. While many regions of our beloved nation continue to strive for progress, peace, and prosperity, there exists a tragic and unrelenting reality in Benue State that now demands your urgent and undivided attention. It is a reality that defies the very spirit of our constitution, undermines the sacred duty of governance, and daily chips away at our collective humanity.

The purpose of this letter is not to recount a litany of tragedies or to relay statistics that have already been documented, debated, and decried. Rather, it is to implore your conscience, to stir the moral compass of leadership, and to evoke the presidential oath you swore — to protect all Nigerians, regardless of tribe, tongue, or territory.

There comes a time in the life of a nation when rhetoric must give way to resolute action. That time, Mr. President, is now. The situation in Benue State is not a crisis in waiting; it is a human catastrophe already in motion. Entire communities are vanishing under the weight of unchecked violence. The air in our towns and villages is thick not just with smoke, but with despair.

Leadership, as you have always demonstrated is not measured by titles or tributes but by the courage to confront hard truths and take bold decisions. The people of Benue are not asking for sympathy; they are pleading for the restoration of life , a life with dignity, with peace and with hope.

Your Excellency, the declaration of a State of Emergency in Benue State is no longer an option tied to political calculations or bureaucratic hesitations. It is a constitutional tool meant precisely for such a moment when a part of our federation is bleeding, gasping and crying out for coordinated and extraordinary federal intervention. If not now, when?

You are the father of the nation, the custodian of our union and the bearer of the moral burden that comes with that office. History has a way of remembering those who rose above politics to save lives and equally, those who hesitated until there was nothing left to save.

Benue does not need more condolences. It needs action. Swift, decisive and compassionate action that signals to the world that Nigeria protects her own.

Mr. President, let this be a turning point. Let the pain of Benue become the catalyst for a renewed national commitment to security, equity and justice. Let it be said that under your leadership, no Nigerian life was deemed too distant to matter , that under your watch, Benue was heard and helped.

May you find wisdom in your deliberation and courage in your choice.

With solemn hope,
Respectfully,

Michael Samuel Idoko,

Citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Amen ... Amen ... Amen
That's how they end prayers for the dead where I came from.
You see ... The problem with you minorities in the Middlebelt is that you all lack strategic vision. In 2015 when most of you chanted 'Sai Baba' we warned you this would be the consequence of a Buhari victory but you all sneered. In a few years or a couple of years, you all would line behind another Fulani to help cement the graves dug by their militia. Amen ...

in Benue State, the Governor and Federal power are more concerned with being political correct than tackling the isore of insecurity that have rendered human life's worthless in.

Shaking my head.

The kiIIings in Benue didn't start with "sai baba", I remember very well in 2013, I always say this, a good friend of mine in the miIitary lost his dad, we went to bury his dad in Agatu LGA of Benue State, shares border with Nasarawa, we couldn't access the viIIage because of herdsmen àttàcks, it was almost abàndóned apart except for a few vigiIante who stayed behind, we were escorted for burial and sent back that very day except for the immediate family who stayed behind with some soldiers and they left the following day.

Guess who was the senate president as at then, it was David Mark, same senator representing same senatorial zone, what did he do to alleviate the probIem faced by those people, he shûtd0wn the media on them, a protest was held in Otukpo to this effect çryîñg for Agatu, still, it was not reflected in the media.

The people of Benue sûffèrèd first hand the incompetence of GEJ, they faced hunger and Iack of payment for months, same GEJ who couldn't protect villages in Adamawa and environs, same GEJ who couldn't even protect his capital city, same GEJ was there when fuIanis were raiding Benue, children were sent with guns to fight herdsmen, GEJ was busy in Aso Rock with David Mark drinking, today someone possibly an lgb0 who dóñ't know jack about the people of Benue is bIàbbiñg about warning Benue.
These pàthètîc Iots aIways thinking they have the right to teII others who to vote whereas u dóñ't contribute anything to their Iife or society is really an eye sore.

They are right to vote whoever they voted, if u have been so wise like u think, fulanis won't be raiding Enugu and various states in SE like they are doing now.
Focus on ur probIems rather than Iaughing at others when u are facing same issue, instead of tackling it, u bring politics into it, the usual lgb0 way.

The moment I started reading the post, I expected to see an idoma name at the end of the whole epistle, writing a meaningless epistle that don't hold any water is a usual way of the average idoma, when they face a problem, they write an epistle with heavy grammar, everything to the average idoma man is writing an epistle that won't solve anything.

The most docile crop of leaders in this country comes from Benue and SE.
The leaders you have at all levels, what are they doing?
The military generals, colonel, captains etc you have, what are they doing?
The clergy men you have littered around on big stages, how are they using their stage to speak or move pieces to save and preserve your lands?
Same person writing this epistle will still whine and dine with all the people I mentioned without bringing this same issues to them to deliberate or work on, when people are kiIIed, they are run to write epistles and go to sleep till another group of people are kiIIed, u Iots really need to proactive to work and save your land, epistles will not do it.

Same way epistles didn't do anything when a gruesome armed r0bbery took place some few years ago, nothing was done, the senator representing the zone came to give scholarship to the children of one police officer and went his way.

You lots really need to do more than writing meaningless epistles, pressure those who have platforms amongst you to use it to your benefit.
