christejames:How on earth can you equate 30km out of 750km as 30% complete. Even a savage cave man with deminished mental capacity would wonder on your amazing stupidity.

[quote author=CommonSense1967 post=135608068]You must be allergic to good news about Nigeria. Sectional commission .... Try and use that brain this morning. Always looking for sad news. What GOODNEWS is the commissioning of 30km out of 750km of a road (4%) in 2years out of your 4years term (50%)? Is that something to celebrate about ?. Ómô, make we try to dey hide this bigotry nàhhh!!!!. We all will be dead before 2031 if this our drinking of POISON from our TRIBAL CUP persists. We are dying and dont want a capable and humane DOCTOR because he's not our TRIBESMAN. Imagine this NONSENSE!!!. |

CommonSense1967:to be absolutely candid, that road is 100% unnecessary at this time! Prioritizing fixing the existing trunk A roads, would have made more sense and be more impact full economically. Currently, Nigeria is one of the countries with the worst national road network in the world. |

Where does this road even lead? Should this be our immediate priority, given the levels of hunger and bad nutrition, insecurity, and multidimensional poverty out there? Travel to Ekiti, Kogi, Benue, and many other states in Nigeria and see how families have returned to charcoal pots cos they can no longer afford cooking gas. These devil incarnates masquerading as APC have overturned one of GEJ's legacies. Where is the money saved from removing the fuel subsidy? What was it used for? Road construction? The same roads that previous governments built without stripping Nigerians of electricity and fuel subsidy benefit, which is the only thing majority of the citizens benefit. In just two years, you’ve taken out more loans than Buhari did in 8 yrs. Still, you keep lying to your followers and claiming you’re working for them. |

Avedonn:You don't think the coastal road will open up Nigeria more? You don't think commercial activities will improve on the corridors of the route and distant towns and communities? I personally don't see anything wrong with the project. It's a welcome development. As I speak, people are already exploring opportunities along that route. Perhaps, you should think like them. |

It's not a matter of building roads that traverse many states, the question is, will the road be safe for commuters or are they just building hideouts for kidnappers. We need visionary and purposeful leaders. Imagine the roads, the low-ways and inner adjoining roads where we play on a daily basis are death traps and here you are building coastal highways. |

Avedonn:The road itself is part of the " creating an enabling environment for business to thrive". It's also a means of creating employment and empowering local SMEs such as suppliers of chippings, laterite, asphalt etc. we're too focused on free money. |

Had it been this huge amount of money is pumped into the power sector eee, by the end of 2027, every household in Nigeria will have at least 15 hours uniteruped lights and that's alone will make tinubu win his second term without rigging but nooooo, He won't do that because he need enough money to embezzle and rig the 2027 election whether una like am or not. What a country... |

Avedonn:Lolzzzz, the billionaires in the country e.g Dangote, Otedola, Tony etc are already salivating how that project will make them much richer which implies stimulating economic growth but you don't understand that right?. That project is cash cow for government and individuals who knows how to tap into it's economy value my guy. |

Avedonn:For your information this is one of the prioritize initiatives that will stimulate sustainable economic growth. Companies will be happy to open factories along the coastal toad areas. It is one of the best project to be invested in at this time. Other infrastructure projects will surface to encourage companies to open business there for those export and national consumption and government will later generate revenue from these companies to do other things |

Road can be built but maintenance of the road years after is the question. Who will maintain the road after Tinubu leaves office? Tinubu wants to connect the oil producing areas in the southsouth to Lagos by this road for quicker transfer of oil wealth to the SW region. |

ArcSEMPECJ:I was going to ignore your shallow rant, but knowing that ignorance is a disease that can be easily passed on to others on NL, I decided to make a quick response. The first 47 km was commissioned, not 4km. Secondly, and more importantly, that section was completed in 12 months or less, not 2 years, as you would have the gullible followers believe. Construction started in March/April of 2024. Different sections of the road will take different time frames to complete. Lagos will more than likely take longer because of houses that have to be demolished. Once they get to the less populated areas, it might go faster. Completing 47km in 12 months is a good feat by any world standard. Whether you think it's necessary or needed is inconsequential; what matters is that those who need this road are happy about it. Not every idea will please everyone. More details: Start Date: March 2024. Phase 1: A 47.47-kilometer stretch from Ahmadu Bello Way in Lagos to Lekki Phase 1. Commissioning: The first 30km section of Phase 1 was commissioned by President Tinubu on May 31, 2025. Contractor: Hitech Construction Company. Expected Completion: The entire highway is expected to be completed in eight years. BYE |
