Join me thank God, this snake didn't harm me. Today we went to water our herbs we planted, when it attacked, we offed it instead. Thank God we were able to see it in time.
We're suggesting it came in from the next plot that was cleared and burnt.
We detached the head, and sold the body for 15k.

Glory to God.

I’d love so much to visit Nigeria, but snakes on the front page always scare me. I grew up by I’m an area without snakes. I’ve only seen them at the zoo especially the size on the picture above. I don’t like those things close to me. Not forgetting that in Africa one can die quickly if bit by the snake, because government hospitals lack antidote for the venom.
But you went to Kenya and Kenya don't have snake?

You don't even need to go to hospital for snake bite there are local remedies available.

And snake doesn't share street with humans here.. what you see on FP is individual experience.

We should also stop killing fowls, goats, cows, pigs, sheep etc for meat. We should not join other animals to partake in the food chain of nature again, just because a human killed a snake. grin
In other words, you saying you empathy towards animals because of stomach infrastructure? undecided

Pythons bite, but they are not venomous.
Noted, thanks. I actually meant that they didn't have fangs. Now I get what their teeth are used for: as hooks to grab and hold their preys while they constrict them before swallowing them.

That's unfortunate. Instead of taking its life, moving it to a more suitable habitat away from the farm might have been a better solution.
Pray never to get bitten by a snake, particularly vipers like gabbon viper, puff adder etc. In less than 2 hours without anti venom the person is gone. I kill any snake that crosses my path wether venomous or not. I may be saving someone else's life by doing so.

Kenya is my country. Yes there are snakes, but that’s also dependent on the climate of the area. I grew up in the highlands.

What part of Nigeria is this?
Re: See The Huge Snake I Killed In My Farm Today. by AerialMapper: 10:34am On Jun 04, 2025
You enchroached on its habitat and it attacked you and you killed it.

Tomorrow when bush rats and grasss cutters eat your herbs, youll come back crying that see what animal did to your crops, meanwhile you altered the ecological balance by killing the snake.

I'm looking forward to the day when I will see a snake that was spared or just photographed and left alone, or any other wild animal for that matter, just to show we too can be civil.

I don't mean wild, attacking and aggressive animals should not be killed. No. But we could snap some of them doing their own thing, especially in the wild, and move on!

Most times na we dey waka dey jam these things for bush, or water, come kill them.

@Beey

What region of Kenya did you grow up in that had no snakes? It's quite interesting you say that because Kenya is well-known globally for the safaris and wild life environment with some wild lions even straying right into the outer limits of Nairobi from the nearby game reserves a few years back.

These snakes (venomous and non-venomous) are all over Australia (where the most poisonous snakes on Earth exist), African, Asian, and South American countries. Some of these snakes are ALSO very good swimmers. "Nat Geo Wild" opened my eyes to how deft a lot of wild animals can be. When I'm near a river or lake, I don't just move right in because there could be vicious Crocs in it waiting for prey.

Indeed, the lack of anti-venoms in some locations in Africa, Asia, and South America is what should keep everyone at full alert. There could be anti-venoms in a healthcare facility but it will NOT work for a different specie of snakes that bite you.
