Since from the days of transistor radios we call world receivers I’ve always been a radio person. Now I have simple radio app and use it listen to bbc, voa, dw and many other internet radio stations. Anytime I’m in Jos my car stereo is strictly on fm. From peace fm 90.5 to rhythm 93.7. There is also 101.5(can’t remember the name) , highland fm, JayFM, and recently Dr. fish fm. Radio rocks any time

Radio are made to have different bands after the FM and AM. Radio have Medium wave, short wave bands. With these bands you can easily connect to Chinese broadcasting service, BBC, BBC Hausa service, VOA,

MW (Medium Wave) radio is also known as AM (Amplitude Modulation) radio and operates in the frequency range of 522-1620 kHz (or 520-1710 kHz).

SW (Shortwave) radio, on the other hand, covers a broader range of frequencies, typically from 2300 to 26100 kHz. SW bands are known for their ability to travel long distances, and their performance can vary depending on the time of day and the time of year due to changes in the ionosphere.

Yes and no. Some transistor radios now come with Bluetooth functionality and memory card slots. But typically, they support FM, MW and SW bands. In fact some have LW and SS band where you can listen to aviation communication and police walkie talkie. The common Bluetooth radios don't have these bands

The picture below is a transistor radio. I still own this type (now broken) and it is very powerful.
