I lived in india for 7 years. Light is stable except for 45mins every Thursday in some cities, Good roads, cheap food.
You can walk into any mall as someone earning below average and get yourself clothes or sneakers from branded stores. Good healthcare.
What else do you want?

Lagos used to be serene up till the mid 90s' till everything changed.. it started with Balogun market, then Computer Village, Trade Fair and now all across the State.

Is Nigeria at war?.. why the unchecked influx of people into Yorubalands?

Is South West the only habitable region in Nigeria?.

Those in Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo etc. must wake up and avoid the mistake made in Lagos.

India is kind of similar to Nigeria. There are really posh areas and there are poor areas. I guess most countries are like that to some degree.

I'm saying it because I was in India some years back for a visit, ok. So if you really want to know the real face of India travel out of their major cities then you will see surprises.

If people go about doing their Legal Business, INigration to the Urban centre's shouldn't be discouraged, Rather, the Government needs to do more on Urban planning which includes Location and localization of Industries, sectors evenly instead of Cebtralizing it only at Urban centre's. We need to have more infrastrures developed evenly seaport to encourage direct transportation to the East or South South region would go a long way and reduce over stressing of infrastructures being experienced in Lagos. This is just only 1 out of numerous areas where the Government needs to look into.

Stinkingly Rich AND the Dreadfully Poor
The Upper Class AND the Lower Class
The Good AND the Bad
Affluence AND Poverty
Technology AND Brute Force

It is like using Maroko or Okokomaiko Slums to judge the whole of Nigeria.



It is ONLY in India that you will walk through a place like an Upper CLass Mall (like Mall of America, The Galleria, Aventura Mall etc) and exit a Door into the worst slums in the World with Cow excrement littering the ground and poverty distributed everywhere.

India is a third world nation that commands the military and economic strength surpassing many first world nations, like our former colonizers, the Brits.

I'm an Indian from India. I don't get what this entire thread is about. India's per capita GDP is $2880 while Nigeria's is $1621 So no wonder some places in Nigeria look a good as some places in India.

Add to it the corruption in the Municipal Corporations in India and the fact that we have millions of immigrants flooding into Delhi every year and its no wonder that the city's infrastructure can't always keep pace.

Keep in mind, this city has almost as much GDP as entire Nigeria. So the comparison is a bit off....


Reason India is hyped up is because it is the fastest growing major economy on the planet, just overtook Japan this year, will overtake Germany next year.

And the other reason India is hyped up is because of Indian technology. A small example of the same, look at how 5G rollout in India was much faster and more widespread than even Europe. And then go read about how India is among the top nations that are doing R & D and owning intellectual property in 6G technologies like THz communications. Or look at Indian advancements in Supercomputing, Quantum Key Encryption, Hyperspectral Imaging, deep sea mining, etc. Indian firms are getting contracts from US military these days, like Pixxel aerospace that got contract for Hyperspectral imaging payloads that Pixxel made with Indian technology.
