OLAADEGBU:OLAADEGBU, do you realise Benjamin Garrison - the author of the article you posted - is a dyed-in-the-wool racist? Benjamin R. Garrison (born 1957) is an American political cartoonist[1] and artist often considered part of the alt-right.[2][3][4][5][6] Several of Garrison's cartoons have been controversial. Various critics in the media have called him sexist,[7] racist,[7] anti-feminist,[8] xenophobic,[7] anti-government,[9] and conspiratorial.[9] Garrison has also been accused of antisemitism by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL).[9] His cartoons often lionize American conservative figures and politicians, such as President Donald Trump and Rand Paul and often express favorable views of Trumpism and its political positions, and demonize liberal, moderate, and Never Trump movement figures such as former President Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton.[10][1][11] Some alt-right activists and Internet trolls have edited Garrison's comics to incorporate further offensive content, including the antisemitic "Happy Merchant" caricature.[7][12] As of 2017, Garrison's cartoons regularly appear on InfoWars, a far-right conspiracy theory and fake news website.[7]Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ben_Garrison |

Okay, I have looked for the actual comment...and here it is "Women's reproductive health is about our life," she said. "It's about this whole complicated reproductive system that the least of what it does is produce life. It's a very important thing that it does, but you only produce life if the machine that's producing it — if you want to whittle us down to a machine — is functioning in a healthy, streamlined kind of way."So, basically, what people are saying is that the Frau Obama or the Madame Obama stated that having babies is the least the reproductive organ of the womans does. Well, the reproductive system is not just for production of babies, it first and foremost produces the hormones that make women well...women (That's why some women patients of the local gyny who need a hysterectomy because the fibroids are growing, and they really don't need to have any more kids to add to the seven they have already....say removing their womb makes them feel less of a woman). It is also responsible for keeping them in good health...which is why some women go on HRT when menopause comes...because otherwise they would be sick. Note that Frau Obama or Madame Obama (as you will) then goes on to say that... It's a very important thing that it does, but you only produce life if the machine that's producing it — if you want to whittle us down to a machine — is functioning in a healthy, streamlined kind of way Which is kind of the comment you make when you are discussing reproductive health. Indeed...if I was discussing male reproductive health,...I would state that it is important the male reproductive organ is functioning in a good way. The problem is 1. Most people have reduced the role of woman to giving birth. 2. Most people are ready to play politics with anyone's words...heck even people on the left consistently misinterpret what the right says. Like Trump's comment on covid...where he wished that there was a drug that could clear out the virus...like a disinfiectant...was misinterpreted by the media to mean that Trump was saying that you should drink disinfectant to cure covid. Now here is the right doing the same thing with Mrs Obama's words. What Madame or Frau Obama is calling for is that reproductive health must be prioritized so that women can give birth safely and without complications...which is what the UN, WHO, UNICEF, numerous NGO's , even some prolife activists, health ministers, and countless numbers of doctors and nurses...HAVE BEEN SAYING for decades. But since many prochoicers use reproductive health to mean abortion (which basically is a small component of reproductive health...but propaganda is a cool thing)...many prolifers took reproductive health, and 'childbirth is least important'..to run with the idea that Mme or Frau Obama is somehow saying women should not have children.....or something. And then the article promotes the false idea that Mrs Obama is a male.....a male that had two children, one of whom looks very much like her..... The left and the right should stop hatred. It brings out the worst in them. Same goes for obidents, and tinubuites and many nairalanders on this site. |
