Modern day Republic of India has the world's second largest arable farmland after USA. But traditionally, Undivided India a.k.a. Indian subcontinent also included modern day Pakistan and Bangladesh as well. Taken together, the Indian subcontinent has the world's largest farmland (arable land), more than even USA or China. olawaleatanda:I'm talking about farmland bruh, specifically arable land. Canada doesn't have more farmland than India. Neither does Russia. They do have more barren land though. olawaleatanda:Yes there isn't. There is malnutrition, but that is not due to a lack of food grains. Government of India provides free food grains to poorest Indians. And you have many Temples and Gurudwaras offering free, cooked food. The problem is that food grains alone will fill the stomach but won't give a person all the necessary minerals and vitamins. So even if there is no hunger, there is still nutrition deprivation. Indian Government is trying multiple approaches to solve this problem. Such as making fortification of flour mandatory . Percentage of Indians that have nutrition poverty:- 2005: 44.3% 2015: 22.1% 2019: 11.8% For Nigeria, this figure is not even measured, the column of nutrition poverty in this report is empty in Nigeria's entry. Forget trying to combat it, we don't even know the figures for Nigeria.
