Neo-black Problem: Must Blacks Be Ruled by Whites in Order to Prosper?

In short, the neo-black dilemma may be framed as follows: is it better to live under white rule without political dignity but with basic life-sustaining standards for many;

or to live under black rule with illusory political dignity and without basic life- sustaining standards for the majority?

The path forward for Africa lies in cultivating higher and adequate levels of personal and communal agential integrity as well as full personal responsibility and productivity. Not to mention creativity (including epistemic creativity), productive justice (such as merit and freedom), harmony and reconciliation at local and international levels, and a proper domestication of capitalism and other related values and institutions.

Africa must stop wasting her time on dreams of socialism because it is a system of wealth distribution primarily. Whereas, capitalism is a system of wealth creation primarily, and wealth has to be produced before it can be distributed.

She should have handed it immediately or told her supervisor. Using forgetfulness is too convenient

she may have truly forgotten due to old age

I once forgot body worn camera after shift.I discovered it after leaving the premises.I went back immediately I discovered it but they already closed all the doors. Then, I decided to go and return it the following day.
They reported it to the office and I explained. I returned it the following day and that was the end.
Some evil minded people would have reacted to it differently.

I have questions mehn.

How many days does she work in a week? She was reached out to for the bracelet after “a few days”. Is it that she didn’t go to work she since she picked it up or had no reason put on her work clothes?

If the answer is Yes, fine. But if the answer is No, she had been to work since then or put on those same clothes yet failed to return it; that shows intent. She was most probably keeping it hoping no one would ask about it, cuz i know these UK schools have modalities for ‘lost and found’ items.

The same way you forgot how to spell "VERY" correctly at your younger and wrote every instead, that same reason could be her problem at old age.
For 3 days oga, nairaland is not a job or source of income like her case. Stop supporting bad habit. Thanks for spotting the error, corrected and it was caused by autocorrect.

It's not about messed up society, but their rules and regulations of the working environment, yes very possible that she forgot, however the rules may just be against such forgetfulness. That's white people for you, i understand them through experience.

What the woman should have done is immediately she found it, would have informed appropriate authorities, that's the procedure, but in her case she forgot.

Again, the way things are done in Nigeria is not the same with them and you can't force your way of doing things on them, from my experience with them, they don't trust us at all no matter what you do, so looking at this case, they don't see it as we do, moreover, the organization is not a family business, so the reality has to be faced as looking at the number of days the item was with her may not be justifiable.

Like they say, ignorance of the law excuses nobody smiley

It's just unfortunate, i hope her case is reviewed in her favor as age and pressure would have contributed to her forgetfulness.
Do you think if she was Caucasian they would frame the story the way they did with this African grandma?

This is a difficult one cos does it mean if they never confronted her about the bracelet she would not remember to return it?

it should not take her days to turn in the missing bracelet..

Those people believe in their CCTV more than human beings.

There was a time I forgot to sign in on two consecutive days and went straight to work because my clients were already waiting.

HR called to ask days later, and I told her I was at work on those days and that I was assigned some special clients that day. I even told her to confim from my line managers.

She rather went ahead to call Technical to send her CCTV footages of my exit from the elevator before she could believe.

They always feel you want to be smart, especially when you have a green passport.

Saying she forgot is not true and very deceitful.

As usual and expected l see a lot of people who have never stepped into the UK or worked in their system making a lot of comments here.

The simple truth is that people of colour will always be treated differently (poorly) compared to the white citizens. Would they have summarily dismissed the woman if she were to be white? The answer is No!

A lot of blacks are undergoing this type of treatment in UK.

Racism and discrimination can never end in the Europe. Let's not deceive ourselves...

She stands punished. She must have been doing it for long. She just got caught. Her family should cover the shame and hide their pride in dignity.

She must have been caught on camera.

Forget ko. Forgot ni.

this is not Nigeria or society where everything passes with “abeg I am sorry it was a mistake “. There is a code of conduct on everything in office spaces , how to handle missing items, lost but found!
Even accepting a gift from a subordinate or client! Very little things that might influence your decision!

So no silly excuse ! And if everyone is excused for a bridge of code of conduct and ethics ! A society will fall so fast!

Many things we view as normal is pure craze!

In Nigerian banks, you will make a large withdrawal over the counter for example and hand over some cash to the taller as a token of appreciation… and there will boldly receive the cash at the full watching eyes of the people and cctv cameras and nothing is done!!!

We will even justify it! A lot of madness won’t go unpunished or at least there must be an intend or act of discipline that is how humans are tamed! We are all wild beast and corrupt !

There's nothing like forgetting. You don't find something that is not yours and keep it, only to later forget. You submit it immediately to avoid unnecessary any embarrassment.

So she was approached about the missing bracelet before bringing it out, that's very suspicious. If she had brought it forward before being asked, it would have helped her case a bit.
They must have seen her on cctv picking it up then approaching her with evidence.
