Why not tell NNPCL to do so? You and gullible supporters of Tinubu had once called dangote a monopoly so, what has changed ? |

For imported crude oil? As long as dangote keeps importing crude oil prices will be high. If we want fuel to be crazy cheap the NNPC should allocate cheap/free barrels of crude to local refineries and agree on pricing for local consumption only. That way refinery owners only charge consumers for the cost of refining and transporting the products. This is why fuel is cheap in the middle east. The refineries can then choose to import crude for their export businesses. |

Local refining is definitely a step in the right direction, and it's good to see petrol prices lower than in neighbouring countries. But ₦815–₦820 per litre is still very high for the average Nigerian struggling with the cost of living. Comparing with other countries is fine, but let’s also focus on making fuel more affordable locally. Transparency in pricing and more competition in refining will help us get there. |

Franklin242:Why must marketers import when dangote can acrually surpass local needs? FG , NNPCL and the appointed importing marketers are the enemies of Nigeria, including those supporting them. Why are they now crying wolves after they had accused dangote of monopoly, even before he began refining his petrol? The guy wanted to be selling at 500 naira but NNPCL stopped him for their selfish gains and hijacked the downstream operations then, diactated to him how much he must sell. In a decent environment, the masses would go after them and begin to stone those behind the mes |

Fuel is now available, thanks to Dangote. But as a crude producing nation with naira-for-crude in place, petrol should be more affordable. Availability is good, but Nigerians deserve affordability too. |

Franklin242:Stupid excuse; these marketers have no business importing fuel when they can conveniently buy from Dangote. Let the marketers get their act together BEFORE pointing 👉🏻 accusing fingers at Dangote. If not for same Dangote, these marketers would be selling fuel for 1000 plus per litre. |

This is not the way to go about it dear marketers. Do your importation and sell below N800/litre thereby forcing him down too. Afterall when you marketers had the whole business to yourselves, it never came down but was always up and up. I suspect a sinister motive. Maybe the marketers want to go into petrol smuggling fulltime now that the price of petrol is considerably higher in neighbouring west African countries as pointed out by Dangote. So the next thing now is for them to think of how to widen their margin in the smuggling business. They won't mind earning more than the refiner. Thieves. ![]() |

It will be at the disadvantage of the marketers if Dangote sells at very low rate. Nigeria economy is quite unstable and does not have any comparative advantage over importation of refined petroleum products. |

Oh... What nonsense Dangote is a business person first and foremost. I don tell una taya say business persons primary goal is profit. It's left for the sitting government to look for avenues that'll make that possible and also be for the welfare of their people. That's never a business persons goal. Forget all the nonsense talk those wey don big come public and talk, it's only for their reputations. Plus selling crude to a local refinery in a foreign currency is very silly to brag about and any government that is serious wouldn't even count this as achievement. See me o. How you wan use bolster ya own currency and economy when even you no wan dey use am? Make dem do their own refinery and get bragging rights to bring price down, no. Na to do middlemen for business dem suppose be owners on dem sabi... Yéyé dey smell |

Monopoly was killed by the Dangote refinery that was built. It still also appears as politics to me. He seems to be working hand in hand with FG to be able to put up that massive refinery, otherwise, FG wouldn't have allowed him build that. |
