I've been at LASUTH one midnight like that (we rushed a family member there) a not more than 13yr old was unfortunate enough to get wounded by stray bullets. The eediots refused to treat him without police reports. It was another older person that was also shot that was now fighting them. We couldn't take it and got involved, we sent someone to get police report and stood as a mob forcing them to administer treatment to both injured. We had to stay there until police arrived as we assured the medical staffs of us being witnesses to the event. That was two lives we saved that midnight.

The police are at fault for this, but allow me to also blame all involved for letting themselves be intimidated by an unlawful practice of the Nigerian police. Baba Buhari even condemned such nonsense and I thought a law was enacted to stop the practice of waiting for police report before treatment?

What a chaotic country, everybody just dey do as they like...

Did you watch the video,she said it's not her Duty. She didn't refuse to help.And she's right,it's the duty of the porters. I'm a doctor and porters are the ones that lift sick and injured patients to hospital wards. It's not the nurse or doctor's duty.

you talk well...People are quick to condemn medical workers in Nigeria without considering the reasons behind their actions. I know several doctors who have been arrested for treating emergency cases such as gunshot wounds, stab injuries, and accident victims.

I myself have been arrested by the police for managing a stab wound victim who was brought in by 11pm. Unfortunately these Nigerians are quick to blame us cos they love to castigate doctors and nurses,instead of blaming the corrupt system. It is well. We are leaving you guys

Read the heading again this time slowly .... it says Federal Hospital not private Hospital

Even in advanced countries it is not the job of nurses to bring in accidents victims into the hospital, let us learn how to do things properly for once. An ambulance with EMT personnel will bring an accident victim into the ER while calling ahead to get the surgeon and supporting staffs ready if surgery is needed and stretcher the victim inside, not bringing an accident victim in your private car and shouting on a Nurse a female nurse to do what exactly, carry the man on her back ?

Nigerians are the problem, this country can never become better when her citizens are wicked and heartless. If those people were to be her relatives, would she make such statements, i don't blame her sha,

This country rot is beyond just politicians , 99 percent of the citizens are eveil, just look at the kind of jean a nurse wear to Federal work , that one is just there to Bleep Doctors

baba haba , this isn't the reason for the discuss if the man is willing to pay.payment wasn't the issue but the idea that no one came to bring the patient down from the car and there are porters in the hospital meant to do that work and should be on stand by to attend to such patients. Immediately the man told the ladies they were on camera , u notice they started doing the right thing in reverse mode.

Maybe if you see the other side then you will understand. My dad was a General Surgeon. Had one of his patients die post-op. The family stormed the hospital to beat him up for "killing" their brother. Patient that had been trying all other means including fasting and prayer and only came to the hospital hanging on to life by a thread

Most paid doesn't equate to wealth,
If you compare the amount of hours put into work medical staff (doctors, nurses, laboratory scientists etc) are underpaid. Besides we need to hear the nurses reason for rejecting or refusing to attend to the patient before concluding.

Very sad situation! Why are the nurses so heartless . They get paid every month yet refused to do their duties. They should be sacked for the sacrilegious act . When health workers no longer have sympathy for sick ,what are they doing in their profession again. There should be mass purging in that hospital..

That was an emergency and every second is critical. Their oath of profession is to save life... Save that life and reason consequence later.

Nigeria is such a disgraceful and heart-wrenching country. We are just bunch of over 200million fools! We will keep running all over the world with little or nothing achieved.
Such a useless country! Sometimes, one would wish one was not a Nigerian.
An individual brings accident victims to an FMC, if it was a private hospital, they could make a case for it but this is a Federal Hospital that is run with tax payers' money.
Later they will say pay ground rent, this rent, that tax and all sorts of taxes that are unaccounted for.
This video will be seen all over the world and when outsiders treat us like animals, we start to fume as if we were better than that.

I don’t blame the nurse; within the nursing specialization, there are various areas of expertise. While she may be working in the accident and emergency department, her actions highlight the failing healthcare system, which reflects a lack of commitment from the current administration to revitalize the health sector. The accident victim was let down by the system, not by the nurse.

Consider this: where are the paramedics on the scene? Who is the doctor on duty? What emergency plans and contingencies are in place to manage the financial implications in situations like this? Having worked in Nigeria's healthcare system and currently at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, I understand emergency situations better. I don’t blame the nurse; I blame the Nigerian system. It has failed its citizens.
