Back then in Uniben, me and one of my guy tried starting up a campus fellowship. We called ourselves Pastors and used lecture theatres in Pharmacy and Medicals for fellowship meetings. We usually rented speakers, microphone, keyboard and some students joined us.

I think the maximum number we got then was around 30 students. After service, we usually went back to our hostels tired and shared the offerings and tithes between ourselves after removing the money for renting of speakers, microphone and keyboards. If we had grown the fellowship and became GOs, imagine the stream of income it would have become today.

I stopped within a year after my conscience pricked me. So what Abel Damina is saying is 100% true....I subscribe to giving offerings which is a free will thing but you see that tithe thing...Pastors should tell me if they are levites.

When I was a little innocent boy of 6 years. I usually wondered what the church meant by giving offerings to God.

I thought that after church service or mass, the pastor takes all the money into a sacred chamber, locks himself and the money in there and pray fervently until all the monies start evaporating to heaven.

Na when I hear fela song, I come know say pastors and Imams dey chopulate our money for mouth.

As a child, I thought that, at the end of the service, the men of God gathered every currency note given as offering in a basket and set them on fire so that the smoke would ascend up to heaven. After all, that's all what the offerings offered to God in the Bible consisted of.

There is no amount of propaganda that will stop the propagation of the gospel and the practice recognized by the bible.
There have been offerings since the creation of the world, which of them has God used by Himself if not people that He appoints as His Priest that handles them.

The offering church members give is for the maintenance, operation and running of the church... buying church equipments, buying fuel or diesel for the church generator I and many other things they use the money for.. for the smooth operations of the church
