The transport costs down south would add to the overall costs as some have said here.

You just posted picture of a cow and told the price in Adamawa without proof? Sounds like APC propaganda. That cow is close to 2 million or more in southern Nigeria. That cow use to cost no more than 300-400k in southern Nigeria,a few years back. The increase in price of transportation is a big factor affecting the sudden rise in the cost of foods including cow meat (beef).
You are smart

I bought this exact size of cow at 55k 5years ago for my girlfriend's birthday, so what happened? Just in a space of 60 months? Its really disheartening to understand that the emergence of yoruba government has done a big blow to Nigeria and Nigerians.
I wonder how much it would be sold in another four years of yoruba rule....... Good people of Nigeria will prefer every person's regime but yoruba, the reason is beginning to be clear to me
Hope her kpekus is the same as it was 5 years ago?
If so, then your point is valid but if not.... Then you have no case....
There is no where in the world where the price of goods and services have remained the same from 5 years ago...
This is why it's good to think outside the box....
If the price of cow meat is too expensive, then seek cheaper alternatives or encourage more livestock production...
Goat, ram, poultry, bush meat etc...
Complaining won't change a thing

But come oooo

Does this mean cow rearing is profitable

Cos cows re the only herbivores in this world where you don’t even need to buy commercial feed for them

Infact you can build a big feeding fenced farm with green grass and small trees and grubs and leave the cow there for one month

And so far there is artificial source of water they won’t die

Buffalo’s are the opposite of domestic cows

So I don’t understand how and why a cow that spent all its life eating free food from the ground is 2.3 million naira

Cow that grazed freely on public land. With practically minimal cost of inputs.
plus destruction of one farmlands and other vegetation, a lot of bl00d and deart in the bush on innocent farmers. The price we all pay indirectly for consuming these beef is something i thought of.

It's simple. Stop destroying farmland. Raise your cow in a ranch.

Not here in SW. I priced cattle yesterday, small ones that are still around one year old are 500k, 600k naira. That one above would go for 1.4 million naira in SW

Where's the proof? Any manipulator can just put up fake info just to push a certain narrative. If you are on a fact finding mission or research or market survey, learn to always provide verifiable info with proofs.

That cow is more than the stated amount regardless of location. Even in Mubi cattle market, it's more than that.
