South west have almost half of out of school children in the south. Owomida is taking over education in the south west. Their kids are ascribing to be MC Oluomo.
Olodo, did you bother to compare the overall population of southwest and southeast, then judge the percentage based on population

ALISMILE:
Thats because the south west accommodates most of the children of the people of the South East, South South, North west, north central and the North east.
Note that I’m from the South South.
When it comes to IGR generated in SW you won't mention that people from South East, South South, North East, North Central and North East also contributed to it. grin

You have not compared apple with apple… the population of Oyo state is perhaps more than the entire south east combined… so it’s normal their’ll be more out of school children in SW.
What is however strange and unfathomable is that their are more crimes and criminalities in SE and SS region despite their fewer population
more crimes in SE and SS ? How did you arrive to that conclusion
Re: Out Of School Children In Nigeria by PerfectFortune: 5:52pm On Jun 11, 2025
Most the numbers from Southwest is from Lagos due to its huge population. When you compare population to out of school ratio, you will realize that Southwest has done very well.

The majority of those out-of-school children in the SW are from the North. SW is the hub of internal immigration from the SE, SS and North.

The out-of-school statistics are more than 20 million, likely around 50 million.

The truth here is that no matter how poor a Christian is he strive to send his children to school. I remember when former governor Kwankwaso insulted President Jonathan in the build up to 2015 election that the North do not need his Almajiri School initiative and also promise to use same Almajiri to vote him out, that promised was kept before the eyes of all Nigerians. That is exactly what the Oligarchy in the far North wants, to keep their grip on the masses. Education will deter them if they embrace it

If you tell Statisense to bring the indices/parameters on how they arrived at their figures, they will begin to blarb.

They drop figures based on the figment of their imaginations.

Out of school doesn't necessarily translate to poor and destitutes. The narrative about school being key to success is no longer sellable in the north
In the North? Where even the average send their children to Saudi, Egypt and the likes. Most of the out of school children are the destitutes

Do you know how many people from the other regions enjoying free education in the same SW you are so quick to insult.....that's a huge burden and a strain on that same SW resources.

Re: Out Of School Children In Nigeria by EmekaA125(m): 6:01pm On Jun 11, 2025
I doubt this number for SouthEast because even Anambra has lowered its out-of-school statistics to 0.5 or below. Unless it's coming from Ebonyi State mostly.
Re: Out Of School Children In Nigeria by EmekaA125(m): 6:01pm On Jun 11, 2025

No longer sellable?
You mean northern children used to go to school but now they don't because they realized that education is no longer the key to success?
Re: Out Of School Children In Nigeria by NewHe: 6:05pm On Jun 11, 2025
In reality, the Northern region don't fancy education but believed in bokoharam!
I think Obi and co should begin to give good definition of out of school and never put the blame on FGN!

SE children are into business. They don't go to school.Same applies to SS.As for the SW , unforeseen occurrences force many children out of school.Education is the legacy of the SW.

You know I can understand for other regions, but East? Oh heavens!

........ surprised to see that outrageous figure of out of school children in the East! Like what's going on? Who are their parents and what are they thinking?
It's a shame, absolutely shameful please!

grin grin

And oyo and Lagos combined are more than the whole south yeast in population
Re: Out Of School Children In Nigeria by Kudos6453(m): 6:12pm On Jun 11, 2025
The population of Lagos and Oyo cover the whole south eastern states. So numbers of people within geopolitical zones matters.

You are over 18 I assume, and as such you should be wiser.

Not all adults are wise anyways.
Re: Out Of School Children In Nigeria by CommonSense1967: 6:13pm On Jun 11, 2025
Another useless fake statistics composed by some olodo in his bedroom.

How come the people from the SE are not complaining about the factuality of these stats?
They are not asking how they arrived at these figures, but they were crying and wailing when the stats didn't favour them just some days ago.

These stats are just opinions of some people; they are not based on any credible, verifiable research.
Pure junk journalism.
