Pastors/churches are not the reasons many people are poor but Nigeria itself. Nigerians in UK, US, and other developed countries rarely go to church because the system is built in such a way that you can only prosper or live well by engaging in something productive.

Nigeria is not a country that rewarded hard labour or dignity in labour, hence people believes in hope and miracle to make it big in life. Religions Con men wouldn't have had it so easy to deceive people if the country take care of the welfare of her citizens like sane countries do.

Things has gone beyond redemption in Nigeria, and it's obvious we can't build a good society to live in.
Your last paragraph reeks of hopelessness.

So,OP- this is one of the JUNKS that you people paced on- Social Media, for Sensational Reporting!
The Boy( Pastor Son) is just being Naive Or May be his Father did not Teach and Train his Church Members on - Personal Development to grow in the Knowledge of :STEM-(Science,Technology,Engineering,Maths) that is Evolving the Modern 21st Century Development- in Skill, Training and becoming Experts in his Chosen Areas, then too 😔
So,if the Pastor did not Commit to the Church -Overall Development and Growth,it is God's Problem problem,Not God's Problem,e.g God has given you Teeth,do you want to wait for Him( God) to come down and brush your teeth for you on daily basis? NO,that is impossible.
•To this Pastor Son:
How is a Church the Problem?
Or Going to Church a Problem?
But here you are, you have learned 4- different Musical Instruments and That Is A Skill to you.
It is by His Grace ,you have gotten that Skill.
So,what are you talking about and I doubt 🧐 your Sincerity to God and his Assignment on the Children of perdition that their Lives would be Safe from external Condemnation for- Heaven is REAL and Hell is also REAL.
Church is Not Government that has SLL RESOURCES, COLLECT ALL MONEY but the Church is to Tell You Truth-as per the Nature of God and the Church is never a Burden,to anyone and Not Even you Pastor Son.
I encouraged this young Man,to learn More About the Church and God -for his yoke is light, indeed!

Church is not your problem, but you yourself in James[b] 2:17-20 KJV
[17 ]Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. [18] Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. [19] Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. [20] But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

2 Thessalonians 3:8-10 KJV
Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you: [9] Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us. [10] For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

If you want to succeed in life pray as if you never work and work as if you never pray.
Relying solely on prayers without putting physical efforts into it will end in poverty.

Today in Nigeria most of those best performers in public exams. are from church based schools.

I once attended a Catholic church in Lagos where they did something they called "journey to Galilee".
Each Sunday was for different denominations, starting from a minimum of#5 naira until a minimum of #1000, depending on how much you want their god to bless you.
The last Sunday of that extortion exercise was for those who wanted a miracle of foreign trip. They were asked to bring foreign currencies.

I was already immune to their silent screams of "you are the only one not going out to give money".
Heads turned and faces twisted, but I wasn't concerned a bit.

So are there no poor non-church goers in Nigeria? Abi no be Muslim aboki beggars and almajiris full everywhere for Nigeria dey beg for alms? Na still Church or Pastors make dem poor abi?
The highest form of self deceit is to think that someone else or something is the cause of your misfortune.
Many churches are some of the biggest advocates of self development. In fact, my Church organises skills acquisition programmes for Youths several times, and it even has a Job seeking platform where people consult for vacancies in many companies either owned or managed by Church members, government and other companies. It is even in the Bible in several books how laziness leads to penury, hence; hardwork is constantly encouraged.

No be Church be una problem, person wey lazy don lazy, whether he/she dey sleep for Church or he/she no dey even go at all..

Topics like this are common online these days, and the major aim is to push negative narratives about the Church of Christ, but no matter what, the Church will march on and the gates of HELL CAN NEVER PREVAIL!

People like you will criticize Churches that preach about paths to financial prosperity, yet na una still dey blame Church for individual laziness of people..

This guy is saying the truth and nothing but the truth.
How many prayer warriors can afford to feed themselves? They are always looking impoverished.
They spend the whole day building an empire for their pastor and his family but forget to build themselves
At the end, they will end up serving the pastor and also serving his son after he had passed on.
So true. I have one uncle that used to tell me he can never use an electronic repairer that carries church on his head, because he will never have time to perfect his craft. He will spend all his time from one church program to the other, all week long. When you go and look for him in his shop, you will hear that he has gone for a 3 day church program. Such technicians can never be good at what they do.

No be Church be una problem, person wey lazy don lazy, whether he/she dey sleep for Church or he/she no dey even go at all..

I can't count how many times my Church emphasizes on self developments and even encourages youths by organising skills acquisition conferences to equip the Church Youths, but una go leave Government wey dey irresponsible, and quickly dey attack Church when people wey lazy still remain poor despite their Church going.

People like una go criticize Churches that preach about paths to financial prosperity, yet na una still dey blame Church for individual laziness of people..

grin grin grin

In Nigeria, it is a place where the cunny people sells endless False Hope to the gullibles whom are mostly (Poor People) in order to keep their minds at rest while the sellers enjoy their heaven on earth.

It is different in first world nations because firstly, they own the religion and most of them go to church because they want to truly worship God and socialize.

But in Nigeria, most people go to church because of prosperity, to show off, to look for husband/wife and to wade off different forms of spiritual attackgrin

Confirmed truth.
But na when him Papa retire and hand over the church to him the matter go change. You can't underestimate the member's influence in church.

Some times, Pastors were been forced to comply with member's demand.

This is Nigeria, no one can change the system because most of churches were built on wrong foundation.

Correct yourself please.

You should have said they are not the Sole Reason which is agreed.

But they are Major Part Of The Reason.

Human beings are known to leverage on their fellow human beings weakness and ignorance. It is what it isgrin
