See, if you don't want to spend your gratuity on school fees, make sure you marry early and have few children, 3 max.

I got married at 27 because I wanted to stop paying school fees before 60. Thank God, my last born finished university when I was 53.

It was me and my wife forabout 7 years before grandchildren arrived.

God will smile on you if you trust Him and make reasonable plans.

At 21, I was driving a big car to church, and the news had spread that I had also bought a car for my dad. I never knew that I was a target already. The truth of the matter is, you solely, were/are responsible for the decision(s) you made.
Nobody would've made you to do what you didn't want to do, just as nobody could stop you from doing what you had decided to do.
You lived through what you lived through, yet you decided to marry early.
You were not a child.
You have to take responsibility for that.


Again, you would never know what life would've been like, had you not married early.
You probably would've lost everything, then made to start over, or maybe not, who knows?
Marriage most likely kept you grounded, and made you more responsible [including financially].

I am not ungrateful, I just felt I would have done way better and looking back, I never did what I truly wanted to do, never had fun as I would have expected. You are a lady so, you won't see issues from a guy's point of view. Most ladies want the guy to work till death with little enjoyment.

I studied very hard for ICAN through the ATS route and became a chartered accountant around 20. I never went to a regular university. I got good jobs in multinational when my mates were still in the university.

Got into tax department and was in charge of negotiating company taxe with FIRS officials and you know what that means.
I also moved into oil and gas where I was in charge of supplying ago to the whole country, I used to get my cut from every driver like about 500k every week excluding my paycheck which I never remember to touch. At some point, I bought my own 33,000ltrs ago truck and added to my company's fleet. Nigeria was sweet.

I think I got lucky.

You just have to identify the source of your relative unhappiness and address it/them. If it's your MIL you may have to take hard decisions.

The reason for marrying late would best be to see the world and build a sustainable life. Forget what people say about retiring early and having fun. There is no fun at old age, you will not travel much different ailments for most of them. Falling asleep every 30 mins even when they manage travel they can't even do much. Just sit around in bus while being driven, can't stay out late can't grove at night.

Watch your parents they stay at home all day watching Africa magic morning till night Monday through Sunday. Even when they come abroad to visit you they stay indoors all day. The best they could do is stroll to the city center. The sad part is that their kids are so engrossed in their work and raising their children that they also don't even know how to groove let alone the best places to take their parents to.

I do now but I get monitored all the time like contant video calls. I am scheduled to travel alone to Cartagena in Colombia early next month.
I would love to be in Pucket Thailand before the end of this year and ALONE as well. No kids, no wife. Lol

He is not complaining, a man should have time to discover themselves and what they truly want out of life. It is not all about marriage and kids for some people. For example Don Jazzy is a fulfilled man because he discovered what he loves doing. When you marry early in this part of the world, 90% chances that you won't discover the actual you and your capability. This is a manly talk, women may not understand it. A man can have kids and wife and yet feel empty.

Success is relative my friend. When I think success, I think of the missed experiences not just assets and money in the bank. I started working at 14 and have worked all my life to raise and support other people for wich I get little in return from them.
