Seriake Dickson, the former governor of Bayelsa State has slammed President Bola Tinubu over the state of emergency and suspension of Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State.

Speaking while commemorating the 26th Democracy Day celebration, Dickson said President Tinubu cannot be marking democracy while suppressing it in Rivers state.

He said, “Of all days, why did the president and the Senate President choose today being a democratic day in Nigeria to read all those undemocratic and unconstitutional and illegal communications to the National Assembly.”

The APC is not doing well. I see them loosing the next election .

I can stake ₦1m to that bet .. the APC will not see more than 6.5m votes come 2027 amd Atiku -obi will emerge victorious woth 18m to 25m votes

Valid point from Dickson. Though the emergency was necessary but restoring the elected government at this time would have helped him score more political points

I don't subscribe to this assertion, how could anyone believe that?
Can't you also see What is happening in Rivers State presently?
There is a clear road map to Rivers State of emergency, that is for Tinubu and Wike to loot state fund and place Wike's people to all position. Why didn't Tinubu recall Sim on June 12th? The simple truth is that LGA election hasn't taken place which is one of their aim.

Can Tinubu accept this from anyone? Can Wike accept this from anyone? Is Rivers State the only State that a predesor assisted a successor? It happened in all the state including Lagos State.

Why is Rivers different? Because one man just want everything to be done by him. Even Tinubu is not acting in Lagos the way Wike acts in Rivers.

The worst is that Rivers people are welcoming the evil and atrocities with glove hands by their body language.

What exactly makes/made the emergency declaration necessary?

Tinubu yesterday claimed that he wasn't interested in a one party state for Nigeria.

But his body language and actions show that what he actually wants is a strong and stable APC, coexisting with other weakened opposition parties.

He doesn't want a one party state but he wants a highly weakened opposition.

Weakened by Federal power, weakened by Federal resources.

Kudos to Seriake Dickson.

I have got maximum respect for politicians who are standing up to Tinubu despite very many others bowing and cowing in fear to a Democrat by mouth but a tyrant at heart!

Even though they are not saints themselves but maximum respect for the likes of Seriake Dickson, Rotimi Amaechi, Nasir El Rufai, Peter Obi, etc.

Unfortunately Fubara has already bent over backwards and is currently licking the feet of his oppressor in chief at Aso Rock.

Giving a very powerful and very colourful democracy day speech at the "hallowed" chambers of a group of lawbreakers who had the temerity to decide on an elected state Governor's removal using a voice vote.

Is there any week people don't get killed in Benue? Have any Fulani terrorist been arrested since then? Have any security contingent been deployed? Is Benue not part of Nigeria anymore? This is the problem, where were the Niger Delta elders including Mr Dickson when the fight between the governor and the house was escalating, they were picking side and the president that understood and know the important of Rivers state to the economy of the whole nation has to take the necessary step to forestall break down of law and order.

Even the governor himself has come to realization that the step taken by Mr President is for his own good.

It wasn't a bad precedent but an UNLAWFUL, ILLEGAL and UNCONSTITUTIONAL precedent.

Unfortunately we don't have Rule of Law , otherwise he should be impeached add to that he completely DISOBEYED a Supreme Court Ruling which he Jagaban instigated and choreographed.

Don't you find it PERVERSE that there has been no court ruling on the Civilian military coup that resulted in an elected governor being forcefully removed from office and an ILLEGAL administrator imposed on the state.

The supreme court has REFUSED for 4 months to adjudicate on the matter a matter instituted by 11 PDP governors.

Fubara started the suppression when he collapsed the legislature and handpicked 3 individuals to replace them with their sitting venue inside the governor's office but you didn't speak up then because of your Ijaw bigotry.
