The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, has restated readiness to provide leadership for the All Progressives Congress in Osun State and work hard for the party to return to power.

The state will be going to polls on August 8, 2026 to elect another governor with the incumbent, Ademola Adeleke, expected to run on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party.

However while speaking at the inauguration and award ceremonies organised by Iron Ladies Group, an association within in Osun APC in Osogbo on Thursday, the ex-Osun state governor, who was represented at the event by the ex-Director-General, State Bureau of Social Services, Mr Richard Tinubu, demanded unity in the APC to make the struggle to reclaim power easier.

He further said, “I will provide leadership for APC and I work hard to return the party to power in 2026.”

He urged members of the group to “Go into serious mobilisation for APC,” saying they should continue, “To rally support for President Bola Tinubu as he continued working to reposition the economy for the good of all Nigerians.”

Earlier, the State Coordinator of the group, Adesola Ayangbile, said the association was established to build a network of women in politics for support and mentorship, addedthat it would continue to champion the course of women and children’s welfare.

She also said the group has adopted the Managing Director, National Inland Waterways Authority, Mr. Bola Oyebamiji, as its choice among the aspirants for the APC governorship ticket in the 2026 Osun governorship poll, adding that the women would also work hard for the reelection of Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.

In her remarks after receiving an award on behalf of her husband, Dr. Shekinat Oyebamiji, who represented the NIWA boss, said the endorsement by the group was well recieved, assuring them that Oyebamiji would live up to their expectations, if elected governor.

Even though I am not from Osun state but I am Adeleke supporter it unequivocal to state that Adeleke is living in fear of the unknown. Referential to his nephew constant visit to Tinubu as well the recent visit made by his brother and himself to the president shows that the governor is jittery and sheepishly looking for a saving grace! But the big question is that with the politics of no permanent friend but permanent interest play its card? Will Tinubu playing to the aforementioned not going to be a rebuttal as well as a grandeur betrayal to his own nephew Ggoyega?

President Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday, while appealing to traditional rulers in Osun State to support his reelection to enable his administration consolidate on its achievements, revealed that APC was able to win the state’s governorship election held months back with the aid of remove control.

Buhari, who failed to provide details of what he meant by remote control, said: “I know how much trouble we had in the last election here. I know by remote control through so many sources how we managed to maintain the party (APC) in power in this state.”

He intentionally gave d state to Atiku in d last election n blocked all APC logistics to the extent that he locked all campaign venues of APC n in the course of APC moving from one closed venue to another, they had accident n 29 people died.
