Forget matter, Iran has been clipped. All their proxy partners, Hamas, Houthis, Syria's Abbas, and Hezbollas are all decimated. Iran has made it clear they want Israel wiped out of the map and they are pursuing the meaning to achieve that. Israel cannot sit and wait until that happens. It has a legal and moral obligation to defend itself and it did by targeting nuclear facilities and scientists.

Whether it is within international legal ambit for Israel to attack Iran or not, Iran has been very truculent and belligerent in every ramifications against the State of Israel.

From sponsoring proxy wars using the Hezbollahs and Hamas of this world, to other veiled aggression against Israel and acovert nuclear capacity/uranium enrichment, Iran has always incubated a war mongering posturing and is seen more like a trouble maker instead of peace loving nation.
