The problem is not Nigeria but Nigerians. We have a terrible orientation about life centered on egoism and most importantly, money.

How else do you explain that those who claim to have escaped Nigeria run abroad to continue the lifestyle and dishonesty that made Nigeria what it is today?

Smile. I'm good, better, best here in Nigeria. You must know, not all Nigerians are suffering. I schooled abroad, and I see different kinds of sufferings that my people induced upon themselves in a foreign land.

I will give you a breakdown of expected income if you decide to do Uber. No matter how you hustle, even if you put in 12 hours daily, you will hardly cross $300 -400 daily in most busy metropolitan areas.
Now expect to pay fees of about 25% and also income tax of about 15%. Total is 40%
less 40% of $300 = $180

Less petrol (gas) full tank $40
feed twice while on the road $10 x 2= $20

At the end of the day you go home with $180- 60 = $120'

Do you think working that hard for 12hours with a take home $120 is "flexing"?

My point is, if you don't maintain a regular job abroad, you are a in for a long thing, even with your $1M. That is how the system is set up, to only reward working people.
brah if you cannot live comfortably on 40000 pounds a year that's your own wahala. Everything I showed you up there generates 40 thousand pounds a year and your house is paid and your principal still remains in bank and you have another 90k at hand. If that is not enough for you then greed is your problem

Agreed. But who will now make Nigeria work? We are supposed to fight to make it work. Whose responsibility is to make Nigeria work, if not the citizens who know what is right? Those who left Nigeria also contributed to the shades of wrong here. Angels did not aid the country we are going to but the people did and not by running away from their fight, but by staying true to a course of their identity.
You are clowning, right? The propotion of Nigerians abroad isn't up to two percent of the population. Let the 98% back home fix the country.

I don't think you've ever lived abroad. Maybe you don't know what certain jobs and conditions do to your psyche. You think those aren't dehumanising there? Humor me. Caucasians haven't done poop to you and you can't react. What many of you call "God's favour" here will land you in prison over there.

There's a reason some people are reverse immigrating. It's not for everyone. Money
First, you don't think. Second, you shouldn't think when you are better off doing some simple research, which might show you where I live. Hint, its where I was born too. If caucasians do poop to me, they'll end up in jail.

We see Naijas working toilet in clubs where I live. And yes it can be dehumanising, So dehumanising that I can't help talking to them.

Pay is usually tips only, they tell me, but the advantage is its night work so they can go do early morning cleaning and be at university for 9, where they are learning to better their life.

Only a few Nigerians who are lazy or have made tons of money or have the opportunity to do so in Nigeria reverse immigrate from UK.

Why don't you admire high level jobs too in the abroad.. Jobs that require you to have critical thinking skills... You don't... Cause you are a worker... And can never be na innovator..... .

It will take you an average of 10 years before you start knowing the western world is a scam. It’s a new system of slavery without chains.

People who have left for over 10 years are planning to return home, the newbies are the ones hoping to stay.

One thing is guaranteed, you will hit that point when it will dawn on you that the race is not worth it.

When you run like a clock for 10 years, your brains will start resetting.
Is this the lie they told you or your own coping mechanism?

There are 3 kinds of people who deny the fact that abroad life is a far better upgrade:

1. Those who didn't enter abroad the right way (as PRs).

2. Those that entered abroad with unrealistic expectations.

3. The Self-deceivers and fake Patriots.
Also, the people who don’t want others to know the truth that abroad is better.
These ones live there but act as if they’re suffering more than they were when they used to live in nigeria.

This is the problem with you folks when you stay in your location and analyze what you don't have the details about. You said house is paid in full but have forgotten that to keep the house, you would be paying over 20k a year in taxes. insurance, HOA and utilities. Let alone maintenance. After all that, tell me how you intend to survive with the remaining 20k for a whole year, let alone "flex"?

20k a year translates to about $1670 a month. Which is around $420 a week! Even the lowest paid fast food worker makes much more than that. Yet, its not a living wage for a single individual.

You talk about 90k at hand as if it has any value when not used. Money that will not last 2 years if you depend on it for upkeeps, and would not yield any substantial interest when invest for passive income.

As an immigrant, if you don't work, like really hard, you are in big trouble financially.

The cause of the race is for living. Compared to Nigeria where you can achieve yo certain extent and will maintain status quo irrespective of what happens, it’s the opposite in western world. Taxes will continue to hit you, and when you default, those things you own you will start losing. It a system that entails you to keep earning or you will lose it all. Have you heard of foreclosures and liens?

Look at Nigeria where people own homes and still able to afford to train their kids to university level WITHOUT debts, In the western world, for you to reciprocate same means you probably be working till your late 60’s if you happen not to be decimated by age. Now you ask yourself, after getting a student loan, having a mortgage debt and business debt you have serviced all your life, you won’t want a loved one to pass through it. It’s not worth it.

The system is designed to make you feel you are moving. But over time, reality will dawn on you. They keep telling you debt is good if you make good use of it, but have you ever asked yourself how long you will be able to mentally carry and service that debt. You even start thinking about an eventuality, what happens, the bank takes it back.

It’s a long story, I wish I could explain, but I am certain that overtime, after you must have maintained that life for over a decade, reality will start kicking in.

but in Nigeria no bills and taxation

We're better than them
Lol... No bills and Taxes can only mean the following:

1. Poor industrialization and service provisions like electricity, security, amenities, etc.

2. High tendency to borrow meaning high debt servicing with consequent poor economic outcomes at national and state levels.

3. An exceptionally high gap between the poor and the wealthy, with the wealthy being extremely few and far between.

Stop glorifying Welfarism and underdevelopment!

This is a huge part of what makes Nigeria a horrible place to live in this day and age.

Most Nigerians go through far worse than what was portrayed daily...!

Nigerians are simply more resilient than most citizens abroad, hence the reason this nation hasn't gone up in the flames of Revolution.

That resilience might be what keeps your leaders corrupt and unwilling to improve the lives of the citizens.

No nation that will excel and grow economically will have citizens claiming and rejoicing that everything is cheap or free!

Have you ever stopped to wonder the actual cost and consequences of having little bills and paying nothing in taxes?!!

Have you ever wondered where the leaders get the funds to make your life in Lekki so "sweet"?!!

Have you ever asked yourself how solvent this nation's finances are?!! What the future holds for this nation if crude oil completely goes out of demand?!!

You are living in a bubble...! Realistically, your coming generations are already doomed even before they are born, if you truly look at the future of this nation's economy and security.

You can at least go get a job cleaning toilets for minimum wage abroad.

In Naija, the options are the dehumanising beg or steal or ignorant prayer!
My brother, I put it to you that cleaning toilets abroad is not easy. In fact, you will need more than 3 jobs if you want to be cleaning toilets. Hunger and frustration will break you, you'll run back to Nigeria. Don't let them deceive you o. You can't survive by cleaning toilets only.

bro I seriously doubt you have smelled muritala Mohammed airport in your life. there is no privilege in my lifestyle. I just told you I have the cheapest lifestyle in the whole of Lagos. Today for example I am not stepping out at all meaning I am spending zero kobo today. It's all about connecting to a higher purpose which brings contentment. All these people running upanda japaing are living in their lower self so they can never be content. Nah... For every single person crying over bills abroad, there are at least 3 living and loving their lives since they are prudent and simple in their financial lives.

...And for every person living well in Nigeria, there are at least 10 suffering horribly. I know this for a fact!

There is no way you are going to twist or paint the reality.

Testimonies abound about people struggling and suffering in Nigeria who started living improved lives after relocating abroad.

Of course, there will also be those whose affluent lifestyle in Nigeria took a nosedive when they got a reality check abroad.

However you want to argue this, facts are facts...!

Over 70% of Nigerians are either poor or knocking hard on the door of poverty.

If you belong to the minority living well, then how fortunate for you.

You can't use few examples of those living large in a decaying society to argue that the nation is better than others... That makes no sense.

If Tinubu should actually make Nigerians pay taxes and push businesses to exact the full measure of their charges from the masses, you will have the 70% mentioned above descend into 95%.

Nigeria is a ticking time bomb of years of unrealistically subsidized economy that has been masking an unsustainable economic rot...!

Anyone who has the privilege of relocating abroad and fails to utilise it will regret it later.... His generation will hate him for life!

lol you are delusional. If you offer every Nigerian living abroad 1 million pounds today about 99 percent of them will get on the next thing smoking back to Nigeria. Nobody enjoys living abroad. There is nothing to enjoy there apart from constant electricity but you are too busy running upanda to even enjoy that one. And the 1 percent who choose to remain will be the ones born there who have never been to naija before. That's the truth

Definitely, cleaning toilets abroad is not easy! It's toilet cleaning for Christ's sake, why should that be easy? And it definitely don't even pay much, just about enough for daily bread and shelter, if you asked me and if you eat small, and your boss will constantly be on your case, sometimes making you clean the same toilet like 5 times because, according to them, you did not clean it to their standard.

Slavery, I'd call it, except instead of paying the pittance of a chain round the neck and a whipping on your ass they give you a few pounds or dollars they know their own people would never accept. But who in their right mind travels abroad and intends to survive on toilet cleaning? Most japas do it for the first few weeks or months on arrival and until they find something better, while they school on improving themselves so they can dump toilet cleaning and get much better jobs as I already informed SoliBayNG.

If you can not put up with the hardship of "3 jobs", please stay in Nigeria. Because anyone will tell you your first few months in England at least, will be like moving to hell as a slave, but with some use of the sweat of thy brow and the educating of your brain, not only will you eventually eat, you will feed family back home too who will be begging you for bread daily.

I say "toilet cleaning", and I include all those other hard jobs that Nigerians come to UK to initially do while they find their feet. Note.
