When I said that the US has checkmated Russia, it's not just words.
Russia is where US wanted it to be in Ukraine, they have their hands filled to manage any tangible response.

This is unlike the Russian of 15 years back.
Putin started a modernization of the Russian military with increase focus on foreign affairs and deployment like the old Soviet.

We all saw how Russia rise up to quickly come to Assad aid following US intervention during the Syria Civil War. They deployed real asset and soldiers! Mount real respond and make it clear to the US that attacking Assad forces is out of bonds. Syria airspace was highly tensed back then, even with US objection they still have to mend to the strong Russian stance.

That avenue even allow military analyst to learn the Russian doctrine, how effective they can perform, shorties flown and even sampling their technology back then. Which surprising turns out not too bad, but still sub par to the west.
Syria back then is a far less opposition, they have little to no economic benefits to the Kremlin, and with a fractured Syria, it even provides more technical, strategic and logistic changes to the Russians. But despite this they
Intervene, sending a strong statement to the US and world at large!

Here is Iran, a more stable and reliable partner, good economic value and a supposed power bloc in the middle east one with good staging for power delivery. Even with a supposed pact they are still at the sideline.

But to be fair, I'll still wait to see their response if the US should get involved as I could understand why they might not come in now it's sorely between Iran vs Israel.

If after they still stood by the sideline, not even providing weapons and deterrence support, then forget it... The hegemony will be here for another 100yrs!!!

Concerning China forget that one, no track record of force projection, not even in its Asian shores!
And it can't start now!
