This was the service chief relocating to Benue on June 3 https://www.vanguardngr.com/2025/06/herdsmen-killings-attacks-army-chief-oluyede-relocates-to-benue-with-psos/ The killing of 200 was on June 13. Maybe the killers were not informed that the service chief was in town. Next thing will be that Tinubu should relocate Aso rock to Benue so that he will show he is serious Instead of tackling the issue we just like all the posing for gram and headlines. The real hardwork is in the bushes in the villages where its mostly the locals who can figure it out |

Ellexo:The killers are innocent bandit according to some people here... |

izzou:That excuse was downright pathetic. Soldiers are trained to face enemies in any terrain, familiar or not. That’s literally their job description. Him trying to argue that a civilian who's more familiar with the locality is somehow better suited than a fully trained combat soldier is funny. It's not like the herdsmen committing these atrocities know the terrain more than the locals, yet they're operating anyhow. |

Ellexy:What about the arms? Let Tinubu be campaigning for 2027, while locals carry their machetes to combat with someone holding a stainless AK-47 |

As much as I understand the complexities and nuances of the situation on ground I won't give PBAT a pass because he's seen the situation happen under the past 2 Presidents which means he should have had a fair idea of how to resolve the situation adopting different tactics. Tinubu was within his rights when he criticized GEJ for his failings as regards security so anything he's receiving today is fair game until things improve substantially. raumdeuter: |

izzou:Are you saying the security votes of the state government cannot afford more than machetes |

raumdeuter:I am not defending Alia on this matter My point is that the mess is way bigger and different from what we are seeing in the SW and SE; which you people are comparing it with. These guys will enter a community and clear the inhabitants. It's different from someone trying to graze on your land. That's the point you are missing. |

izzou:That comparison weak me, comparing area boys and normal street security to armed militia who are only out to kill both young and old irregardless. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Ellexy: 5:24pm On Jun 16, 2025 |
izzou:I remember Amotekun and Ebubeagu was a struggle cos Buhari and co were against it yet the governors did what they had to do. That pst Alia or whatever they call him is an unserious fellow acting like they installed him without any will of his own. |

chrisooblog:From my little knowledge of the middle belt, they are a mix, they have villages who are farmers, Christians and natives e.g Jukun, Angas Tiv and they also have villages that are largely herdsmen, moslem, Fulani settlers A fight will start between village A and village B, will escalate maybe the Angas village is getting the upper hand, the fulani village will reach out to their brothers outside for backup. Those ones will be brought in and on the day of the attacks it's usually the local fulani that will lead the outside well armed Fulanis to the location to cause havoc The locals are the ones who will know the situation better. To an outsider you can't know the difference between the 2 parties but a local will know Tinubu was within his right to criticize and anyone doing so is also within his right Your right is different from the realities of the past 50yrs of consistent killings and those on ground closer to the people should take a lead with the backup of the FG. That is my point |

They said state police isn’t good as governors would abuse it so what stops the governor from turning these so called state “paramilitary “ into same thing we fear about state policing |

Bluelines69:These guys are not even giving them the chance to live No kidnap, no ransom.... Nothing nothing Just enter a community, spray bullets and leave. This is what we should compare to One Chance, or kidnappings, ehn? |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Ellexy: 5:28pm On Jun 16, 2025 |
TrebleChamp:Bruh............................... and that the bulk of anything security no longer ends at the president's table, the goal post has now been shifted to the governors' domot. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by raumdeuter: 5:28pm On Jun 16, 2025 |
izzou:The point is if SW, SE are doing 5, Benue should be doing 50 because na them the thing dey hit pass. The guys on ground know themselves better than the guy in Abuja Alia should do better and not be going to pay condolence visit every Monday morning. Meet force with force and see what happens Begging praying and wishing it away has failed |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 5:29pm On Jun 16, 2025 |
raumdeuter:Is that not an indictment on Tinubu's leadership? If he orders service chiefs to go solve the insecurity issue and gbey decided to lodge in hotels and drink beer while terrrosits attack more citizens? See, all these one u are blaming everybody but Tinubu no be am at all. But continue |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Bluelines69: 5:30pm On Jun 16, 2025 |
izzou:They set buildings on fire with people inside and surround the village, that’s how most of this Fulani militias operate |

izzou:You think they are just picking targets at random? The people on ground probably know and have a feel for when they are coming. There are many times they will say they are calling some army barracks far off and no response because the army barracks is waiting for orders from Abuja Put the security locally, arm these local guys and they will defend their villages better than anyone from Abuja |
