This is a government that knows what it's doing but when you tell the Obidients children whose only occupation in life is to press their phone, they would start insulting you. A lot cant see that it will take constitutional reform to improve the security architecture of the country and this is where majority of the works stops that the door steps of our legislature both at the federal and the state. Putting the blame solely on the doorstep of Tinubu is being myopic and lacks understanding of basic Nigeria structure. Tell your elected legislature to pass law enacting state police law so the states can solely handle the security matters of his state |

CJStarz:let's have it first. This current system is not working and is it not getting hijacked? People are being slaughtered and nothing is changing. We'll cross the bridge of politicians hijacking it once we reach there. We can't and shouldn't be afraid of making changes because of the fear of probable and perceived repercussions |

Stop yapping and make it happen. If it's to loot or pad budget, they'll cooperate and make it happen in the blink of an eye. For how long have we been talking about state police now? Knowing Tinubu, this is mere lip service to placate the masses as frustrations are at an all time high. |

OredoPikin:The main thing is he has realized the importance of state police. It's commendable The only fear is for it being hijacked by governors and other politicians in the state to oppress their opponents |

I hope this time it’s not just rhetoric but a real step toward actualisation. State policing is long overdue. Efforts should now focus on designing clear safeguards to prevent it from being exploited by state governments against opposition parties. Implementation should be swift. The federal police will still exist serving as a bridge between states but it can be smaller, more agile, and responsive, much like the FBI in the United States. This will also allow the military to focus on more pressing national security tasks. Grassroots security is the most effective kind, as it fosters trust and mutual understanding between law enforcement and the communities they serve. With state policing, many problems can be addressed early , nipped in the bud before they spiral out of control. State or county policing is standard practice across much of the world, and Nigerians should not fear embracing it. If lawmakers can devote six months to a proposed tax reform, they can and should dedicate the same energy to developing a workable, pragmatic framework for state policing. Combined with genuine local government autonomy, this could significantly strengthen security and restore public confidence across the country |

CJStarz:There will also be federal police and the Army to checkmate them. We used to have regional police. How many of them were hijacked? |

OredoPikin:You people will always try to bring Obi into every discussion just to prove a point. The question I always ask is, the same Pitobi that govern Anambra state. I know you want an igbo president but painting Pitobi as everything good is alarming. We don't have short memories |

franugo:The National Assembly has to veto it first. Bill has already been proposed and trashed a long time ago. Otherwise, the president should have forwarded such a bill to the National Assembly. Its now left for them to resurrect and pass the bill, which I'm sure will be opposed by the North. |

CJStarz:This talk is always funny. But the president can hijack police toom, military, INEC, ect. Pls, the president has always hijacked these thing. Nigeria too large, decentralize everything. Let the states or regions tackle their own right there and remove eyes from the center. Tufiakwa for black people. |

Only AK 47 can confront AK 47...state police and forests guards must be inaugurated and forests guards must have AK 47. |

CJStarz:I just wonder why black people just cant fix small issues. Nigeria's problem is mainly due to merging of people who never shared any common heritage together. Now, if they must continue to live as one country, why cant we at least copy and adjust the UK model where 4 nations exist in one country. Even the 4 nations go the world cup individually. Too much centralization is the core problem of Nigeria. Blacks find it so hard to reason and solve societal problem. |

donleo92:Ebilokan talks and talks but does nothing. Has he implemented the direct payment of federal allocation to LGAs a year after the Supreme Court ruled on this matter? Were you among those who were excited about the Supreme Court’s decision back then, and who thought it was the beginning of restructuring? Should the disastrous disappointment of incompetent ebilokan in this regard not caution you to stop taking his chochocho balablu talk talks seriously? Meanwhile, what did your own senator and representative say about resource control in the 5th amendment to the 1999 constitution, which Buhari assented more than two years ago? Why did your own NASS members not have it included in the constitutional amendments then? |
