Cromagnon:Does US, UK and Canada have security? Do they have amenities? Do they have better currency strength? Do they have our level of poverty and unemployment? Electricity cost is too high per income in a country that offers nothing to reduce frustration. Cost of food is high, cost of transport is high, cost of medication is high. Why do we even need to compare ourselves with other nations if they have issues. We are suffering that's what matters. |

Maxymilliano:It is finished, 100 naira in 1960 could buy 20 bags of rice but 1000 naira now can't even buy you a good loaf of bread what a shame , that is to say that the white colonial master's managed this country economy well but since they left Nigerian economy has continued to get worsening every decade it's a shame |

Its still almost the same thing. A N100 salary then is now N1.1m salary now. A car of N100 then us valued at N1.1m now. Economists will say the basket values are still the same |

Nigeria’s GDP is currently around $200 billion, making it the fourth-largest economy in Africa after Egypt, South Africa, and Algeria,” Adebajo said. “But due to low productivity, devaluation, and stagflation, the country has lost over $300 billion in economic value.”Nawa too These people really messed up the economy. We're now 4th in terms of size? It went too low, man. |

Image123:You don't understand the post at all. You are talking about minimum wage of 1960 and minimum wage of 2025.The post didn't say they should be the same amount, but it's talking about VALUE. That's,the purchasing power. Compare what that 1960 minimum wage can buy in 1960 with what the 2025 minimum wage can buy in 2025. What the post is trying to show in essence is that, assuming that, that 1 naira was the minimum wage in 1960,that it can buy 20 bags of rice then, and in 2025,the minimum wage is #70,000 and that it cannot buy even one bag of rice. It's a simple basic economic theory that even a learner should understand. Even me wey be a science student wey no be economy student or even art don understand am fast fast but some of una wey claim to be economy or accounting students de thing dey enter una for left ear comot for right ear. As you talk say some people no go school here,e come be like say nah you wey no go de school sef. |

Pacesetter123:You clearly showed a lack of understanding and very wild assumption. You claim to be a science student, can you be exact? What was the minimum wage and why is it tied to bags of rice? If you insist on the bags, how many bags could the minimum wage purchase? What percentage of the country was educated and getting up to this minumum wage, then and now. That is how science works, dear. |

SarkinYarki:I thought about that too. I read it in the news before Tinubu announced the subsidy removal that they are paying 100-150 for subsidy so I wonder why it has to go up to 500+ immediately he announced subsidy and still going up on a daily basis. And as nobody talk who am I to complain. |
