I never voted for Tinubu but I'm beginning to think I will in 2027.

He is a bold Southern President, not afraid of the North. Nigeria is a Country crying out for reforms and state police is one of them.
U are voting him for what exactly?
Are u that ign0rant
Same state policing Obi wrote boldly on his manifesto and Tinubu initially back tracked from it
Only to open it after thousands of people have been killed in the past 2yrs

That's the president talking! We honestly need state policing!

That's true Federalism. Very soon, it would be each state, fend for yourself and remit little to the federal government.
Pls help me summarize the nonsense. Has he approved state policing or still talking jargons?

This state police nonsense will create more problems
Which more problems than what we are already facing?
If you think the way the Security architecture in Nigeria is,is the best then you are living under a rock.
Anambra was living under the menace of Unknown Gunmen until the State government constituted a Security Outfit and the difference is clear to the blind.

Why does it have to take so long for decisions like this to be made and passed into law?
Re: Insecurity: ‘State Police No Longer Optional,’ Tinubu Seeks Reforms by ejieddy: 8:49am On Jun 17, 2025
If the President does this, I promise not to criticize his administration for the next three months beginning from when he achieves this... This is needed. That federal power in the police needs to be broken. We need trained and professional federal agents, while the state should properly train and fund the state police.

I have warned, for the past few years, specifically with what is shown below, that the bolded in your post is where Nigeria is heading.

Only those parasitic, expansionist, covetous and usurper by nature won't accept this inevitability we cannot put off for much longer.

PBAT is now warning similarly by announcing failure to amend the constitution seriously threathens the unity of Nigeria.

We cannot all wake up to be full of Wisdom on the same day. Such will happen at difference pace for everyone.

Yet, when the time has arrived, many in the end will have reached the level of wisdom and ability to think critically that is required to trigger the necessary change some parochial and anti-progress menaces have been successfully frustrating for decades.

This is a government that knows what it's doing but when you tell the Obidients children whose only occupation in life is to press their phone, they would start insulting you.

A lot cant see that it will take constitutional reform to improve the security architecture of the country and this is where majority of the works stops that the door steps of our legislature both at the federal and the state.

Putting the blame solely on the doorstep of Tinubu is being myopic and lacks understanding of basic Nigeria structure.

Tell your elected legislature to pass law enacting state police law so the states can solely handle the security matters of his state
The same Tinubu that changed the National Anthem in a jiffy?

The same one that couldn't wait to proscribe fuel subsidy and Forex deregulation.

The same one that has been championing the Tax Reform Bill at a breakneck speed?

Suddenly he's just waken up to the necessity of State Police and the fact that the Legislature are the bottleneck?

He never ready.
When he is, we'll know..

Go and ask question. Obi eradicated criminals in anambra. Can you visit onitsha without being robbed? Can you pass through upper iweka before Obi arrive? You guys are really backward. People are being killed and all thats in your head is Obi. Dem swear for your papa?
I told you how Tinubu fought insecurity in Lagos by setting up a state sponsored police structure. Tell me what Obi did to fight insecurity.

Everything in Nigeria is deceptive and corrupt, even journalism. Did Tinubu say any of these things? Can't these people see how other countries report it when another official or spokesperson speaks instead of the president himself??

Tinubu do this and I will forget about your other inadequacies...
I love ❤️ Nigeria but with equal right and justice...
I am Igbo and majority of us want a working Nigeria for all not for some people. Maybe that's why they say we don't know how to play politics, and of what use is politics without general welfare of all the people irrespective of religion, ethnicity or class.

I thought Tinubu govt will allow State Police after Islamic extremists Hausa/Fulani + ISWAP have killed most of the non Muslim people in Nigeria and take over the whole of southern regions of Nigeria.

State police is the way forward.

Tinubu in Lagos birthed RRS. State sponsored police which is the best in Nigeria today. Obi had his chance as a governor too. What did he do to tackle security?
Go and check the most secured state at that time before coming to disgrace your generation. Peter Obi won award for the most secured state.

“None of these reforms will materialise without legislative courage and political will,” Tinubu declared. “Let history record that in this chamber, on this day, Nigeria’s leaders chose courage over caution, vision over fear, and reform over inertia

But if the spokesperson say something that is stupid you will take it as the President's position.

Because vested interests means that what is best for the masses is always what is last/least in the minds of those with powers to make a difference. I.e legislators in this case.

We saw how Northern leaders, across all levels of Northern society, tried to bully Northern legislators to withhold their assent for the passage of the tax reform bills. Yet the bills have been ratified by our legislative arm as we all believed would be the case under PBAT because we know he gets things done.

Whereas same can never be said for his opponents like Atiku and especially Obi. This is why it is key to support a brave, resolute, well-connected and (most importantly) influential President, across all regions and levels of society, who arrives office with a proven reputation of getting things done.

Nigeria is at a critical stage in her history and we should not be messing with a more-of-the-same imperialist born-to-rule character (Atiku) or a misguided, weak and cowardly opportunist in the form of Peter Obi.

The Presidency, even if Tinubu will not continue beyond 2027, must be for brave, well-connected, sagacious and resolute leaders who can get the right things done because failure to gain this type of President is now an existentialist threat to Nigeria.

If the Governor like, make he finish all the people there while they are just watching. Which will be virtually impossible because the police officers themselves will be too ashamed to disappoint their family compound with bad behavior.
You get. Aptly put, I am tired of seeing people saying the governor will abuse the powers. The governor won't be able to abuse any power.

His kind are the enemies of Nigeria whose focus is firmly on primordial and ethno-religious hatred of whoever is President to the extent they will automatically reject any solution or initiative that Presidents supports.

Below is what all sane and critical-thinking Nigerians accept as the reality that has now necessitated the delivery of State or regional policing without delay.

The president described Nigeria’s 1999 Constitution as foundational to its democracy but outdated in dealing with modern security threats. He cited the rising complexity of terrorism, cybercrime, farmer-herder conflicts, piracy, and separatist agitations as clear indicators that the current legal framework is inadequate to secure Nigeria’s vast and diverse territory.

“The pace of change in technology, in the complexity of security threats, and in the dynamics of our federal structure has far outstripped the capacity of some constitutional provisions. Our Constitution must evolve or risk becoming a danger to the very unity it was meant to protect,” he said.

this is the only visible way with long term solution to solve our security challenge. This should be made priority and should be sent to the house as executive bill…..the little success the SW have been able to make was due to the foresight of the SW governors in the establishment of amotekun which has help to reduce the incursion of this blood sucking vipers angry
