Israel is never going to allow any of it's close neighbors possess nuclear weapons, back in the 1980s they destroyed Iraq's nuclear program, a program that was financed by France. During the Iraq Iran war, Iraq were being funded by the western powers, including China and Soviet Union, Israel was doing the opposite, helping Iran. They took the opportunity to negotiate for Jews who were living in Iran to return to Israel.

1972,During the Munich summer Olympics terrorist attack, 9 Israeli athletes were kidnapped, 2 were killed by the Palestinian Militant Organization, Israel asked permission from West Germany to rescue their citizens, Germany were claiming experts and refused the offer. During the rescue attempt headed by West Germany, all 9 hostages were killed.
Israel hunted down each one of the kidnappers and killed them.

Isreal vowed never to allow such a thing happen again, so in 1976 When the PLO hijacked a plane full of Israeli citizens, flew it to Uganda. Idi Amin refused handing over the hijackers nor the passengers. Israel planned a secret mission, flew soldiers into Uganda, killed all the hijackers and left with all hostages. Idi Ami killed one of the hostages in retaliation, a old woman that was taken to the hospital before the rescue mission flew in. Israel still negotiated to get her body.

Fun fact, the person that led the mission was Yonathan Netanyahu, the elder brother to Benjamin Netanyahu the current prime Minister. He died in the operation.
