Private universities getting more licences everyday. It's now a booming lucrative business venture due to the huge school fees. Who regulates and monitor them ? Anything goes,so far you can afford the fees. Educational standard needs to be seriously improved on.

Many so-called universities in Ogun State are nothing more than oversized concrete gates guarding a couple of lonely brick-and-mortar huts — glorified illusions of academia parading as institutions of higher learning.

To be honest, Yorubas are good in investing in the private university ownership business, all thanks to Winners, Redeem and Seventh Day Adventist that opened their eyes to the lucrativeness of private university ownership business.

I am using this opportunity to appeal to our wealthy Yoruba men and women, please come to Southeast and invest in university business. Southeast is a very fertile region for university ownership business. Check all higher institution enrollment statistics, they all support my claim, come to Southeast and invest, stop being scared of coming to Southeast to invest only to turnaround tomorrow to claim Igbos don't sell lands to none Igbos, We do. I personally have versed plots and hectares of lands to sell to highest bidder in Owerri, Enugu, and few at Awka.

You will never regret coming to Southeast to invest in university ownership business, remember you guys have a competitive advantage in that particular business, so capitalize on it and take over Southeast and other regions. American investors are never scared to invest in any country or region, even in war torn and crises ravaged countries, only cowards give excuses for not exploring business opportunities in other regions and terrains

Rich men are investing on private universities to boost their networth.

Some of you bragging about it, can you afford the school fees of the private universities?

When your region no dey top 7....

When your region is the more parasitic and cannibalistic with IGR....

Stop telling lies. Can you compare federal government funded university to private. The south east has 60 universities in total with the 2 tinubu just added.

Nairaland, can you see how much traffic has reduced on here? I saw this post earlier and came back to see it again. Can't believe I'm still typing on the front page. Don't let this platform become uninteresting to people o.

You're actually right. In Imo State, for instance, there's no family without at least 1 university graduate. We no dey use education play for here.

Some people keep deceiving themselves, claiming Igbos don't sell land to outsiders but some of their brothers are building here and there in Igboland. My former landlord is from Osun state and right now has at least 3 blocks of flats he has rented out here in Owerri

@manck, the south west has very good universities, some of the best are in the south west but many of the universities are just concrete gates and some few concrete structures. I know what I am saying. I also know most academic institutions proprietors start small and scale when there is traction in admission.

Ask yourself this question. Why do you feel the need to type this lamentation? If southeast was leading would you feel the same urge to lament?
