Compared to the many other options out there, adoption remains among the cheapest when it comes to getting a child. The problem is that Nigerians look down on the children of others(including their own, since many abandon their children if conditions allow for it), and so adoption is never even considered as an option on the table in the vast majority of cases. Every ordinary adoption of their nephews or nieces... many get serious problems with that, let alone adopting the child of a total stranger.

The pains, the stress, the cost is unexplainable.

8 miscarriages means 8 dead children, all in the process of finding the one she has now. Not making a statement, just pointing something out in all of this drive for children that women embark on. If say na for here, the thought of the dead children would have long devastated many into no longer making attempts.

. It is the claim that this victory is God for me. To learn that the Christian god specializes in killing fetuses in his attempt to give babies to his followers, as is the case, for those who don't buy into the Christian tales, is what sends shivers down my spine. I thought Christians believe that all those miscarriages and failed IVFs are all lives —babies—that matter. So, this celebration is essentially that of many losses to gain the one she currently has.
