Also make sure the statement is not over 7 days old. It's always better u submit a statement that was recently printed, submit immediately or a day or two after.

Good Evening everyone, please I am want to apply for South Africa visa, it is for vacation. Although I have visited Tanzania, I applied for the evisa myself and Ghana but I am a bit confused about the South Africa own. This is my first time, please can someone let me know if I am expected to apply for evisa or sticker visa for a vacation to south Africa. Also where can I get the document to fill and submit if I am to apply for the Sticker type of visa. I have checked their website and I can't find the document. This is my first time applying to South Africa and I'm a Nigerian. Thank you!

Good morning everyone. Please I need help urgently. I am going to South Africa for the first time next month for a conference of about 3 days.

Please can Nigerians apply for evisa? And what's the difference between it and the evisa? Also which one is faster? Please can someone put me through the evisa and the normal process? Which is faster.

Also affer the work conference i might explore a bit of SA for 2-3 days. Please how can I tie that into my application. Thank you

Given the limited time you have, apply for evisa through VFS, processing times is between 3 to 15 days. Limit your application to the conference alone, you can explore when you travel.

Thank you. To clarify, for the evisa, are you referring to the normal application at VFS where I book an appointment online and go to their office to submit physical documents?

Also I saw there's premium service, is it worth paying for it? Thank you.

The VFS evisa is different from the normal (sticker) application where you submit documents physically. Aside the sticker visa, VFS has a platform for evisa which is costlier and faster than the evisa from DHA.

If you decide to go for the sticker visa (which I won't advice, given the time of your travel), do not use the premium service, it has no influence on your application.

Hi everyone, hunee, africankel etc. please I do need your advice. I intend to have family trip to SA this December. Our last visit was 2023. It was hectic because everything was sudden etc. I wish to know the best time to apply for visa. I usually apply for sticker visa from their embassy.

Do kindly advice.

If you intend to apply for sticker visa, apply in September.

Thank you so much for the clarity! I would really appreciate if you can help with the link for the VfS evisa as the one I came across keeps taking me to this which I think is the sticker visa application.

Hi, can anyone help with advice, please.
My staff submitted her physical visa application since the 2nd of May and we still do not have any feedback, it's been 45 days now with no response. What can I do to help her
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by lily156: 10:25pm On Jun 17, 2025
Thanks to everyone for the information. I helped a friend apply for the DHA evisa on June 9. Visa approved 17th.
Tip: if you're unable to pay, change browsers. We tried paying on Chrome (with a foreign credit card) but the payment screen was blank. Switched to Firefox and all went well. Frequent traveler (including to SA) and uploaded a stamped Wise account. Also uploaded a flight booking but it was cancelled immediately after booking.

If the purpose of travel is official and not tourism, send a letter via DHL to the High Commission.

If it is tourism, wait it out. Application processing takes up to three months.

Hi, Please have you gotten a positive feedback yet?

I got a 2 year study permit in February. My husband applied shortly after I got my visa for an accompanying spouse visa but was just denied yesterday after 4 months of waiting. The reason they gave was that hotel contact was not on the hotel booking.

I don't know if he can still apply for dependent visa since I am already in SA and we are not submitting the application together.
Also, will it be okay for him to apply using vfs Abuja office even though I applied at Port Harcourt? Please I would appreciate any recommendations. Thanks
Hugoboi:
Submitted two applications for wife and I at VFS Port Harcourt on 22nd January 2025. Last update was 3 days later that applications are undergoing processing at Consulate General of South Africa in Lagos. Nothing else till now.

Thank you so much for your assistance. Please I have another question. What's the difference between the VFS evisa and DHA evisa? Which is cheaper and has a shorter processing time?

Thanks again for your assistance.

Hello house

I applied for a South African visa via VFS to attend a business conference. The visa wasn’t granted and their reason was no response from the host. But my other colleagues that were supposed to attend as well got theirs. I’m confused. What does this mean and what can I do?

Both visas are the same, except that the VFS platform has more staff attending to applications than DHA, which makes it faster. VFS is more expensive and has a shorter processing time, while DHA is less expensive and processing time can be up to two months in some cases.

Please i know i am dropping multiple messages but i am running out of time as my sisters course is meant to start july the 28th. I just discovered the medical aid cover today that needs to be paid. Is six months medical aid enough or what is the amount of months i need to apply for her?

I'm not sure how this works, but I'll opine that you buy an insurance that covers the duration of her stay.

Hi, thanks for your reply. Her course duration is for three years. Does it mean i pay for a three years medical aid without the visas been approved yet? Its quite confusing to me

If an insurance isn't a requirement for the visa application, I think you should wait till the visa is approved, and probably buy for a one year period afterwards.

I used 1 year medical aid (momentum) for mine. It should be same for her too.
