Now that you know that he did not graduate due to lack of sponsorship, are you willing to sponsor him back to Medical school huh
You don't know how long ago that was

This is also very true. Some people will rather die in silence than ask for help. I was once like this (I still am to some extent) but I soon realised that nobody cares if you die in silence. If it will help my health, finances or career progress, I will beg if I have to, even if you mock or reject me, at least I will be satisfied that I tried my best.
How do you know he didn't try to beg? There's a type of humiliating rejection you'd get (you know they're secretly mocking you) you'd swear you'd rather die than ever beg again

Your comment is not Related , Did you read that this Person took for granted any Little Privileges ? Didn't you read there was no help from anywhere , Na waoooo
Try to read with an open mind to understand and not just to respond.

Most of us have the privilege of having someone pay for our school and we most time see it as our right and sometimes don't think much of it. Here's someone who didn't have that privilege and had to drop out.

I agree... But it could be way by better.

For a start, Why just school fees? Why doesn't it cover other financially stressful parts of schooling such as hostel fees and so on. Secondly, there's a monthly stipend of 20k giving to beneficiaries, which, IMHO, is too little to take care of a school kid through out a month, let alone an undergraduate.

The government would do well to borrow a leaf 🌿 from the Norwegian government: Undergraduates there receive around NOK10000 per month as loan/grant, till they graduated ( tution is free , so no own pays anything for public universities). Afterwards, they only 60% of that loan after graduation.

Again, brilliant initiative from Tinubu, but the programme has significant room for improvement.
They understand this quite clearly and I expect them as well to improve and tackle inadequacies that relates with the Nelfund
Peace!

500 Level and dropped out..? How?
When only one year is left....
Could it be due to Psyche issues
If that's true, the he can be of help to restore the pathway again for him.
Meet with the school authorities to reestablish that connection and see that he graduates. Do that for him.
If issues are encountered, please don't hesitate to let us know..🙏🏾🙏🏾
He could have mentioned the University

Are there no Universities that take part payment?
From 1st year to 5th year, some of his classmates’ families or community might have supported him if he he opened up

He should have opted of a less demanding course like SLT, radiography or biochem

I totally understand this. But personally, I have learnt to swallow any type of humiliation especially if my life depends on it. When you eventually succeed, those terrible times can easily be forgotten.

This is exactly why I love the NELFUND. It will eradicate this kinds of issues.

What annoys me is that I've had to beg some families to take it here in Ogun State while northerners were subscribing to it fully

Nigerian doctor shares a recent encounter with an ex-classmate of his from medical school who now hawks things to make a living.
The doctor identified as Dr. Cheta took to Facebook to reveal that from their chat, the ex-classmate had revealed that he had been the one sponsoring his own medical education.
However, he had to drop out at 500 level since he couldn’t afford to continue paying his fees, and had no support from anyone.

Can you see the benefit of student loan scheme. If it was in operation then he would have borrowed and completed his studies.

Because I don't think it works otherwise you NEVER have to beg Nigerians to take money!!
What are the repayment terms and what if you don't pay back? (Not that Nigerians will pay it back. They'll just see it as free money! grin)

I went through the same path, and I tell you for free it's not a palatable experience. I was able to graduate only by the grace of God.

Self funding in the university comes with its own set of frustration, and depression.
So are you using the degree, working in the field?

So how's the accounting panning out? Are you in the field?
(Tinubu used his accounting to sell dope!😅)

Bro, may you never see a problem that overwhelms you.... You can't think straight. In Yoruba, it is said that "we all pray that we don't fall, but when we fall, we'll be left struggling not to lose our life in the process."

I know someone who spent 17 years in the university. At the end, no certificate to show.

It's a crazy world we live out here. May we not see the ugly side of life when we're still struggling to define our lives.
No mind am. He thinks life is by logic.
