Its obvious why the killings in those part of the country aren't stopping anytime soon.

Fulani invade peoples farm, the farmer kills or rustle Fulani cows, Fulani being a blood thirsty demon come with weapons to kill people. After they are gone, the people rather than go after the Fulani will look for innocent hausas or others that have no hands in their predicament to retaliate on. After a while, those one will come back to retaliate on you for killings their people, then the cycle continues.

When there is no law the lacuna will be filled with law breakers. Hundreds of years ago in America it was the same thing.

This gave rise to the institution of law enforcement at the grass roots, the office of the Sheriff.

What the government in Washington could not do the people of California, Arizona, Texas were doing for themselves, establishing law and order on their streets and in their homesteads.

I repeat for the umpteenth time. People will continue to die needlessly and in large numbers until security through grassroots policing is institutionalized.

A police that is sworn to uphold the law and equiped to put an end to banditry, vigilantism and crass mob action where it occurs. That is State and Local government POLICE. Proper police.

Just as Washington was too far to California to guarantee effective security so is Plateau, Benue, Taraba, Zamfara, Lake Chad, Sambisa.....too far to Abuja as far as any criminal out here is concerned.

Once again, security is called 'net' action for a reason. There is the net that catches huge fishes in the ocean, Big, strong but with wide openings. Try that as your mosquito net and die with malaria. That is what Nigeria is doing with only one type of security structure for all it's challenges.

My thoughts too. Very sad about how people have become so hateful and distrusting of each other. I look back to the era when we travelled to the North (including night trips) and felt safe all through.
