Ogun State Installs Aerodome Lighting At Gateway International Airport by Lanrelagboi(op): 6:09am On Jun 23, 2025
As part of our commitment to transforming Ogun State into a hub of modern infrastructure and global connectivity, we have successfully installed a world-class aerodrome lighting system at the Gateway International Airport. This milestone further elevates the airport’s status as one of the most advanced in Nigeria.

Equipped with state-of-the-art aviation lighting—including a Category I approach lighting system, runway edge lights, and Precision Approach Path Indicators—the airport is now fully prepared for scheduled local and international flights, day or night. With a Category 9 fire cover, expansive apron space for large cargo aircraft, and premium VIP lounges, the facility is primed for both business and leisure travel.

The Gateway International Airport is a bold statement of our vision to position Ogun State as Nigeria’s industrial and transportation gateway—connecting our people to jobs, commerce, and global opportunities.

Only three airports are viable in Nigeria: Lagos, Abuja and Kano. The rest don't generate enough money for sustaining them. I just hope this new project doesn't add to the list of unviable airports.

Dapo do this one, an Aerodome, first of its kind in the country, the longest runway and a fantastic aesthetic design. Can't wait.

While Ogun state can still do more, I think the attacks and criticism towards the state these days is not fair. Especially from those that no government from their place can rival Ogun in any developmental strides.
Anyways, keep the criticisms coming while the government continue to do better for the state.

If you see the money documented on this room and parlour airport it would be enough to build another Heathrow but this is Nigeria.

Do we need more airports before or after we have built more schools and employed enough teachers for all children to be educated free as it was in the first and second republics?

How many of the countries where almost all the parts for the airports are made, are among those with the highest number of children out of school like Nigeria? How many of those countries have less than 5% of their children in free public schools like Lagos, and maybe even less in other states of our country?

Ratio of public to private schools in Lagos State is one to 22 ― Commissioner
September 4, 2022

The Lagos State government has said the ratio of public to private schools at both primary and secondary school levels in the state is one to 22.

The state’s Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folasade Adefisayo, gave the revelation in her remark at the 2022 edition of the Total School Support Seminar Exhibition (TOSSE) held at Oregun in Ikeja between Thursday and Friday.

It's an International Cargo Airport but will ALSO be used for regular passenger use. There's a luxury airport lounge created for that dual purpose.

Indeed we deserve our leaders looters seeing how much we donate, volunteer and engage in politics and governance processes.

He doesn’t know the cost of life, the price of the bean, of the fish, of the flour, of the rent, of the shoes and of the medicine, all depends on political decisions. The political illiterate is so stupid that he is proud and swells his chest saying that he hates politics.

The slowpoke doesn’t know that, from his political ignorance is born the prostitute, the abandoned child, and the worst thieves of all, the bad politician, corrupted and flunky of the national and multinational companies.”

It definitely will.

What is the economic development of Isara/Remo? What is the population of the people of the place?

The airport is not only a collosal waste, and a misplaced priority but also a misuse of public funds.

Amosun gave us roads and we are thankful for it.

Dapo will go down as the worst governor in the history of Ogun State.
