N30M in Naija is good too but that money could vanish in a few weeks without insurance in case of eventualities. And when you also take insecurity and hostility into consideration, one can comfortably agree that $5k abroad is better.

Not true. You can be up to date with your premiums until an accident happens then you will see the long extensive and deliberate obstacles insurance companies put in place to frustrate you. Their investigation into cause of accident is 6 months. Upon which they will start making it look like you were at fault
