Well, what we are practicing in Nigeria is never true democracy.
We have too much ethnic sentiments to practice true democracy.
The larger ethicities will always overshadow the others, and the South-West
and North-West have learnt to collaborate together better politically than the other
mostly because these two are the cradle of the Hausa and Yoruba people.
They bound by more than just geography, they also have almost same religious
sympathies.
The Hausa people will rarely ever want to collaborate with the Igbo man politically
because they have almost nothing in common. They both despise each other.
For us, the minority in the North-West, we can only watch from the sidelines.

That would have been possible last election not now!

In my own Opinion, power is never served or rotated just like that, you have to work for it through strong political inclusivity. Every zone is qualified but you must work for it. You can not just hand over a country to someone with no capacity to will elections through peoples support. OBJ and Jonathan were dashed the presidency and we saw how they performed.

The structure of choosing President in this country has been wrong from the beginning. The military choose the president for us in 1999 by wanting the power to go to the South West to appeal of losing out with MKO. Since then, all the political parties now have zoning in all electoral position.

The same thing with educational sector in the country. During my University admission in 1999, I scored 240 in UMT, I was not admitted but someone with 210 from Kogi, Kwara and Benue where admitted before me because my state of origin is Ogun state. Kogi, Kwara, Benue and some norther states were considered as ELDS (Educational Less Developed State) which is insane.

Naija is gone unless we do away with tribalism, religion and favourism and accept competence. Forget which ever zone that rule last, whoever is competent and from any zone shoud govern the people.

1. Yakubu Gowon- 8 years in office- Plateau state
2. Ibrahim Babangida- 8 years in office- Niger State
3. Abdulsalam Abubakar- 1 year in office- Niger State
Several of them have been VP including Idiagbon etc and senate presidents.
(B) The North east produced the first ever PM Tafawa Balewa and Vice President, including Senate presidents, Speakers of HOR
(C) The South East has also produced two presidents in Nnamdi Azikwe, Nigeria first president and Aguinyi Ironsi. Igbos have also produced VP in Ekwueme and several Senate presidents.
So where is the marginalisation?
