I am not a fan of either Reno or Segun. I think they both talk with both sides of their mouths and are both intelligent men who manipulate a largely inintelligent audience for their own purpose.

However, if Segun was willing to deny (thereby implying or explicitly stating that Reno is a liar) then Reno has the right to humiliate him.
