The Band A Scam: Premium Tariff, Zero Accountability, No Light by IgbaIrumole(op): 5:54pm On Jun 24, 2025
Honestly, I need someone to explain what’s really going on with this whole Band A, B, C classification. Because at this point, it’s starting to feel like we’re just being taken for a ride..

When NERC and the DisCos introduced this band system, we were told that Band A customers would receive a minimum of 20 hours of electricity daily. In return, we’d pay higher tariffs. It sounded like a fair deal at the time — better service for higher pay.

But what I’ve experienced is far from what was promised. Initially, they kept to the expected service levels (20–24 hours), but for months now, I barely get 8 to 10 hours of power a day. Yet every time I purchase units, I’m charged the full Band A rate — the highest there is.

So I have to ask: what exactly are we paying for?

Where is the accountability? Who regulates and enforces the service-level agreements tied to these bands? Why should customers be penalized with high tariffs when the DisCos clearly fail to uphold their end of the bargain? At this point, it’s hard not to call this what it really feels like: An Elaborate Scam.

Anybody else facing the same thing?

You failed to tell us the name of your area/street so we can confirm you're truly saying the truth.

In your area or street, do you have access to electricity for at least 20 hours a day? If yes, please provide the name of your area or street so we can verify the information.

I'm not going to answer your question.direct your question to the OP of the thread who claimed to be in Band A but does not see light.

If this is the OP second account, you can tell us the area you live so we can confirm

I've never seen anybody in band A complaining of not enjoying power supply. Bobloco the OP of this thread must tell us the area he's living so we will confirm if he's saying the truth or lying

Honestly, I still can't wrap my head around his defensive take. Laughable really. You’d think he works for IBEDC the way he’s bending over backwards to defend them.

Tell us the name of your area where you're on Band A. You should be able to name the area if you can't say the name of the street.
