Firstly tell the truth that this resources are largely scanty and not commercially viable

Nigeria is not a resource rich country don't even think we are top 50

Majority of Nigerian minerals are not commercially viable if not companies would bid to mine them

Just few, gas, oil, lime stone, granite , clay, salt, and sand all of which are commercially mined

Our iron is too low concentration for steel reason Ajokuta failed

Most of these areas are attacked by terrorist to displace the indigenes and have access to these minerals. Terrorism is a business

Why can't Nigeria develop one of those places use it as one of the source of income for the country and also provide employment and what have you, they want foreign bodies to come in have a partnership loot the funds they will get from them while foreigners benefit from the the assets, it like turning us to slaves

Even though it is good to be able to manufacture things having natural resources is also good, what do you think country like Iran, Saudi Arabia and even Russia would be like without their gas deposit and Oil? Russia and Iran rely are currently dependent on their Oil and Gas reserve if not US sanctions would have crippled them a long time ago.

For all of you saying that they are not commercial in quantity, please note that that is the quality that makes them "precious" . Please make your research. Precious stones are hardly seen and that makes them expensive. We have some pits in Ile-ife, Osun State where stuffs like that are being mined . I am not certain if they are official
Re: 10 Rare Gemstones Found In Nigeria by baratech: 10:53pm On Jun 24, 2025
You tried with your content.... But You should have put images at least... You could have also put the worth... Quantity of the deposits we have... Give more information...

That would have made the post a more quality post... It's not by 40 characters

All glory be to God the creator of heaven and earth. He created humans on earth and put food in the land for humanity to survive. No matter how rich any country is, every human survival is from ground through agriculture and mining of resources God deposit and kept for human. He then gives human wisdom to develop tools to process them into different usages like money, ammunition, computer etc.

What a wonderful God, one of the lessons to learn, God did not Create human to come and suffer on earth, he had provided food and other resources of human survival. We are the ones mishandling and making uneven distribution of these resources to suffer ourself through maladministration. As God deposit all these for human created on earth, make sure you also keep resources and assets for your children you will bring to this world.

There is no need to bring children to these world to come and suffer when you yourself never gets your bearing for your life. And per adventure you are born poor, you don't need to blame your parents for your own failure, sons and daughters that their parents are worse than yours have survived and turned around poverty to wealth. Discipline yourself and work harder legitimately to break poverty in your lineage instead of busy abusing your parents.

Make una dey Deceive unaself.

What is the volume of the gemstones in the areas mentioned?

How many tonnes can be found?

Why is the international market not rushing Nigeria. Like diamond if we have all these in abundance?
Abeg I get sand sand for my back yard. Who want sand sand gemstone? 😁😁😁😁😁😁😏
You can't get any precious metal in tones anywhere , by the time you collect it from different area you might have the tonnage you want but on deposit you can't have a clue how many gram or kg is under the layer of the soil.

Ondo state has $1.5 trillion dollars worth of bitumen alone. That's more than enough to cater for the whole of Yorubaland for the next 100 years if Nigeria breaks up.
It's NOT if Nigeria breaks up, its WHEN Nigeria breaks up.
Nigeria will break.
