The Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar has warned that disobedience to any court order is a recipe for lawlessness and chaos.

In a veiled reference to the arrest of the #RevolutionNow convener, Omoyele Sowore by the Department of State Services in violation of a court order, Abubakar stated that “everyone must be law-abiding in the interest of national development.”

He gave the warning on Thursday in Abuja at the 2019 fourth quarter meeting of the Nigeria Inter-Religious Council with the theme: ‘Religion and Civil Authorities in Dialogue for Nation-Building.’

The monarch said, “We must regularly obey and respect the laws of our land. We should never disregard the laws to avoid the consequences. If a court makes a judicial pronouncement on a particular matter, it should be obeyed to the letter.

“If you have any problem or disagree with the pronouncement, the next step is to appeal the pronouncement instead of disregarding or violating court judgments.”

Speaking further, the Muslim leader noted, “If you are served a court order and you deliberately refused to obey it because you are a governor, president or any influential person, then you are setting a dangerous precedent.”
There’s no society that will prosper through lawlessness; Citizens must be law-abiding so that we can achieve the desired development,” Abubakar said.

The NSCIA President-General also stressed the need for inter-religious dialogue in the country, noting that it would foster a better understanding among the people.

He admonished the citizens to be wary of extremism and prevent extremists from causing trouble in the polity.

Abubakar further emphasised the importance of education and particularly stressed the need to enrol street children in school and to combat the rising menace of drug abuse in the country.

Mr Muhammad said the rule of law which is the bastion of every democracy across the world will be strictly observed.“The rule of law must be observed in all our dealings and we must impress it on the governments at all levels to actively toe the path.

“The right of every citizen against any form of oppression and impunity must be jealously guarded and protected with the legal tools at our disposal.“All binding court orders must be obeyed.
“Nobody, irrespective of his or her position, will be allowed to toy with court judgments,” he said.

Hmmmmm....it's done on Buhari when the sultanate/caliphate is against him. But the moronic zombies (aka BMC crew) he has in this forum are jumping from one thread to another trying to defend the indefensible on empty stomachs with a monthly meager 30k, which I don't even know if this current minimum wage will affect. I spit on their bald heads. #spits#

I wish General Buhari understood these above statements, no he won't.

General Buhari is an UNGRATEFUL fellow !

He forgets that the same laws he's disobeying today are the same things that empower him in Nigerian constitution as a Nigerian leader. Remove the Constitution, he'll be as ordinary as every other Nigerian.

And to think that he's forgotten that he did not earn that position, but people put him there is the most annoying thing about him. His body language never shows that !

Lastly, we need to remind him this, before he sets Nigeria on fire through his high-mindedness / high handedness that, if not for Nigerian money when he was sick, maybe he may have not survive it.

So he should handle Nigeria and Nigerians with care !

He owes a lot to Nigeria bcs Nigeria has done a lot for him !

If not for Nigerian money, maybe he would have been dead by now !

Nigeria is not his property that he can handle any how, he doesn't own Nigeria, Nigeria owns him. That position is not his birthright, we put him there, so he has to listen to us or.........., the God that fought for us during the time of Abacha is till alive !!!

What useless Court? Court that could not protect us from the lunacy of Mohammed Yusuf, he was arrested many times and always got released by the Courts, when his boko haram grew wings and start slaughtering people, the Court was nowhere to be found.

Nnamdi Kanu got a very stringent bail with a long list of conditions, the moment he stepped his foot out of prison, he broke all the bail conditions, what did we get from the court? Grave yard silence until he eventually jumped bail to go and continue his terrorism from abroad.

Even America that pride itself as the leader of the free world has Guantanamo bay where they lock up every one that constitute danger to their peace without trial, just like Sowore. Human right can be thrashed if it endanger the lives and peace of a nation. The end will always justify the means!!!

Someone will open his/her mouth, type a string of letters and say to hell with the Courts. Even Military leaders will desecrate the court but publicly uphold it's sanctity.

Behold NL, an avenue where we all feast together to learn new "lows"...........

I hope with this, the online warriors from that side whom the Sultan will not even permit to sight the moon and report on Radio Nigeria Ibadan, can start seeing reality and understand that everyone is leaving them behind in their blind support for Tyranny.

The action of DSS and tacit support of the Major General in disobeying Court orders is making several Nigerians to start thinking that they cannot get justice even in the hallowed chambers of our courts, that's a recipe for lawlessness and disaster in any sane clime
