Newsgeek24:The greatest mistake one will make is investing in real estate in Lagos or buying property...the state is a state of touts and gangsters from driving on the roads to the way things are done ....everything in Gangnam style.... Well, will thy listen, don't invest in Lagos real estate or be wise when investing ...or things like this would happen They will wake up one day and demolish houses and businesses |

The new nairaland block-feature is a beautiful thing. These days I don't need to get angry by reading the comments of brain-dead bigots and z@mbies, I just pop into their profile and block them. The functionality needs to be extended to cover a year, or six months at the very least... there won't be any more fights or insults on the forum if people don't have to deal with all that mental detritus anymore & you can just put such filthy intellects in the trash bin where they belong |

My best friend bought a land in Lagos and shared the news with me. I just encouraged him for the move; it's a great one. He then told me they have other empty plots around too in case I was interested. I just shook my head at that. If I even see opportunity to dispose the ones already at hand, I may even consider that because the terrain isn't all that favourable to us from down East like that. It's a tricky decision for now. |

Amotolongbo:You don't have a point. You can't demolish a property whether with or without Cof O without the proper Court documents especially a demolish order stating the property has either override public interest or other legal reasons why it has to go down. That's selective judgement and shouldn't be encouraged in anyway if we really want to have a good country to call ours. |

Always playing the victim card. It's in their DNA. When the real story comes out, you will find out that this religious and tribal fanatical Conman is lying. But it will be too late for his gullible followers. |

So many land case that doesn't involved the owner of the building but those that sold the the land to him an the acclaimed rightful owner. So living there for over 10 years is not a genuine claim of ownership. My family won a land case that lasted over 17years and people keep on buying and building on the said land despite knowing it is subject to litigation. After winning they all want the family to sell to them at our own detriment. Surely 70% of the buildings on it will be demolished. Let us wait for more information about this particular case |

The kind of evil mind and hate I just read in this thread is alarming. The heart of poor men is really evil. People are poor and will remain poor for a reason |

richmond500:The building has been there for 15 years so how is it possible that person from Obi's family will just build without legal documents , that family has been doing business in lagos for long now they are not some family that just get involved in illegality love or hate obi but you are sure he is from a very clean family. The drug cartels in power now are very brutal and they know Obi is not the type that fight dirty fight if not they cant hold onto power forever na. |

This is ridiculous Nigeria has taking politics to another level. I wonder at times if people elected in power they even go to school. Playing politics in people living and the government do not care about the living of there citizens. God punish D one |

Politically motivated with no government official on ground. It's land grabbers and government isn't a land grabber because all lands belong to the government Dronedude: |

Villagesquare:I had a close Igbo friend who relocated to the East to set up a paint manufactureing outfit few years ago, he was kidnapped twice in a span of a year and half, he has relocated back to Abuja again which he now terms his home for ever, and guess the worst part he is now flatly broke while the wife left him because she advised against the relocation earlier but refused to heed her advice |

What did you mean if he "had told us". This news from Obi is not for someone like you. What would you have done. How sensible are you to say, he would have made more sense. Why should he prove anything to you? Amotolongbo: |

helinues:He has mentioned his brothers property that was demolished. If your brothers property was amongst the ones demolished, ofcourse, you are free to mention that too.. If you chose to keep quiet against injustice, that does not mean that others that arw aggrieved should join you in your customary "suffering and smiling" predicament... |

helinues:That is begging the question. You should be concerned that DUE PROCESS is not being followed. There was no demolition order. The property owner was not sued to court to defend themselves. You are hearing this because a prominent political figure was in the mix. This has happened to lesser mortals with no hiccup. Is that the right way to govern? |

helinues:Not a particularly important question, because if 5 properties were demolished, they still have to have complied with the law. |
