President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday played host to Queen Mary Elizabeth of Denmark, who paid him a courtesy visit at the State House in Abuja, News360 Nigeria reports.

The visiting European monarch was warmly welcomed at the Presidential residence by President Tinubu and First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

The visit, which marks a notable diplomatic engagement between Nigeria and the Kingdom of Denmark, was held behind closed doors, and details of their discussions had not been disclosed as of press time.

Among top officials present to receive the royal guest were the Chief of Staff to the President, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila; Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar; and the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Alhaji Atiku Bagudu.

If they were discussing resource related deals, the prime minister would be here with a high ranking delegation. European countries do not send their monarchs for such discussions (although the monarch may be briefed once the PM comes back..in the UK, the King recieves a regular briefing on what the government does)

Besides, no one is stealing our resources. The palaver is, we don't use our resources to make stuff the world needs. That is how you make money from your resources. That is what differentiates the big boys from us poor nations.
