The thing sef is somehow useless, cos it's only u that blocked the person will not see his or her post and he too won't see urs, but every other nairalders will see the post both of u posted,
If I can't allow u to air ur view and someone else too doesn't allow me to air mine as well, we block ourselves and the forum becomes less interesting and boring

You are registered as a moderator. I am deliberately allowing mods to see and enjoy the button even though it will not work for them. How can you moderate if you can't see everyone's post?

The block system needs:

1. A blocklist.
2. It's not for you to decide when a user wishes to keep those they don't like blocked. Some wants them blocked forever to maintain their sanity. Judging from your disclaimer, if Nairalanders are solely responsible for what they post, Nairalanders should be responsible for what they consume. You can't force it on them. I know it's your forum but your admin status would be useless without users to administrate.
3. If the block feature is too heavy, you can do a "stop seeing this users post" for a timeline of "a week," "a month," "six months," or "forever." Or a simply "Ignore User till I change it."

Seun, please look into this. Change the 7 in the code to 365days. I have only intentionally used it on one moniker and I don't ever want to see IT again. Not even after a week.

Dear Nairalanders,

We have just activated a feature that allows you to block people who harass you for a period of time (currently a week).

When you block someone, you will be automatically blocked back by that person, so you won't be able to see each others' posts.

When the fixed period is over, you will both be released automatically, giving you another chance to treat each other better.

The admin, super-moderators, and moderators cannot block people or be blocked.

To block someone, visit the person's profile and click on the [ Block ] button shown below:

Enjoy your new power. But remember that you're also blocking yourself.
