Enugu people are peaceful and I’m sure they’ll welcome a Yoruba man who knows the terrain, competent, a security expert, passionate and bold enough to confront and tackle the many security challenges in Enugu state.

An igbo can be commanders or GOC of the Army anywhere in Nigeria. Likewise Yoruba and Hausa.

Until there is a country called Biafra, Nigerians will have the right to work anywhere in Nigeria.

If he's a Nigerian the experts are grossly wrong Nigeria needs to scrap this mentality of state of origin.

As a Yoruba man I agree with the points raised. Although probably the govt wants an outsider who would not be easily sentimental but passion and patriotism is also vital.

Competency does not lie in being indigenous.. Indigenes are likely to flop the whole thing in a favour of their criminal brothers who are complicit..

At best let the chief understand the local dialect..if he does plus his pedigree
.he is more than qualified..

This is security..it knows no tribe .. let's stop being tribalistic..

The only excuse here is not even whether he can perform..the status quo is whether Yoruba states will do the same for an Igbo man... how is that the problem or the solution of the security crises

This is one thing I love about Akwa Ibom folks.. they don't take nonsense. There is that understanding that what belongs to them should stay within their circle.

As a security expert, appointing non indigene to guide the forest is another form of insecurity,many people will not understand the effect.You can bring someone that doesn't understand the terrin of the place to do a better job.Maybe the government is trying to please some people.If the government wants to appoint non indigene,it should be in areas like urban development, commerce,IT, education, transportation, traffic management etc.The same yoruba people talking are same people who don't want another tribe to be commissioner of police in lagos and ogun state.Not to talk of forest guards.Let igbo man be appointed forest guard of ogun and ondo state too.
